    I owned a French Ivory 68 300 that had the black rear panel. I thought it looked “right” although I believe that it hinges on the body color of the car frankly. I never realized that Chrysler changed the color mid year.

    I have to admit that this is the most handsome looking 68 Newport (or any for that matter) 4 door I have ever seen. Wow - just Wow!! And I agree regarding the rear panel color. The Chrysler folks were right on this call: definitely body color.

    Thank you. I’ve been collecting this stuff for years and restoring them as needed while keeping them as original as possible - for years. Focused on cars I like. I grew up as a chrysler guy…with my Dads 61 Lancer - 170 slant 6/typewriter drive! (lol) as indestructible as can be.
