New Alternator, right part#, wrong part

You didn't mention the 2-groove pulley versus the replacement units single groove, that is a BIG issue too. But yeah, these aftermarket parts company's idea of the correct part is just that its "functional" not that its a dimensionally and visually correct replacement part. They don't care...

New Alternator, right part#, wrong part

It's cheaper and easier for them to sell you an offshore sourced, brand-new alternator rather than rebuild old cores. Do you still have the original? They are often pretty simple to repair, depending on the problem.

New Alternator, right part#, wrong part

Curious to see if anyone else has had this issue. Last year the original alternator on my 70 Fury III, 318 w/AC, needed replacing. I went and ordered the most common reconditioned unit Ultima R111683B. It showed up and fit perfectly, direct replacement. Fast forward to a few weeks ago and I...

New project: Allen Engine analyzers, restoration?

Not 100% sure on my Photo transistor. Within Circut the resistance measures the same between the one that is allowing voltage to pass through (sample sync) and the one that has minimal voltage output. Not sure how to test. Could it be an alignment problem? I think the LED’s are working...

C-Body Front Rotors on 73-Up A, B or E-Body Disk Brake Spindles? Will any fit?

If you think about what you want, disc brakes, you may want to checkout this option. You're wondering about the spindles and possible fitment issues using c-body rotors. 5 years ago there were fewer options for disc brakes, at least that I could find, but I did find this company - Brake Parts...

New project: Allen Engine analyzers, restoration?

More on the photo transistor on the reference side. Circut 302 This is probably reflecting my reading on TP101. If the photo transistor is not telling the A101 circuit that it should measure the reference side is that why I am may be getting an erratic signal? sample side is working (301) but...

New guy and my new-to-me 66 Convertible!

Howdy! I picked up a 66 Fury yesterday here in western Pa for $3200! It runs, drives and stops but needs a fair bit of work. Here's some of the high/low lights: Interior: The top works with the fabric all but shot (it did come with replacement fabric and window.) 2 of the 4 electric windows...

Yes!! I actually replied to one of your other posts a while back since your inbox was full at the time. Do you have some (or all) of the trunk lid lettering? I’m missing the “H”, “R”, and “L” letters on mine. Not a big fan of the “CYSER” on the back of my car haha. I could also use the brake...
