Manual brakes, adding a brake booster

Yes, no adding booster. Much less cost and time to try the master swap before redesigning the system. You will have more peddle travel with more pressure to wheel cylinders. Don't put your self through the windshield. You maybe able to measure the bore size on the current master to see what your...

Pulling to the left on 71 Newport

Glad you did those tests. Glad you found a bad part. Sometimes it's just one thing wrong makes it drive bad. It doesn't matter how close it is to the control arm. If anything in the steering is loose it will change the toe at the tires and make it drive wrong.

Manual brakes, adding a brake booster

Jeez I wonder if this would work in the previous years as mine is a 65

Manual brakes, adding a brake booster

Okay, while maintaining manual brakes, not adding a booster of any sort? This sounds up my alley

    1969 Imperial progress thread

Great news, the block came out not needing any sleeves!! They bored it 0.055" over and all the rust, pitting and even shadows cleaned up nicely.

Manual brakes, adding a brake booster

Install a smaller piston bore master cylinder for easier peddle feel. Larger piston bore harder peddle, smaller easier with more pressure. Should be less than 1" in your car now. 15/16 is a good start.

Manual brakes, adding a brake booster

Into probably the early 1970s, there were factory "add-to" power brake and power steering kits for the dealers to add to cars to that were not ordered with those options. GM did it too.

    1968 New Yorker carpet.

When I first discovered ACC, they were at a high-level national Corvette expo in Dallas, TX. Full display of products for Corvettes. The best OEM-level resto carpets I had ever seen. All literature they had was marked with the company name, contact into, and phone number. No mention of...

    Spindle question

So they should fit then? I know the 74-78 fit. I have used those on imperials but I don't have any of those off at the moment. I do have a set of that 67 wagon off I just haven't grabbed them. Figured I would ask my crowd of more knowledgeable folks than myself before I pull them apart and get...

Firm feel or Steer $ gear?

I had Firm Feel do the one on my 57. I would say it was about 20 years ago and it is still working fine. I had them do stage 1 and it is tighter than stock but nice to drive.

    1968 New Yorker carpet.

I don't think they ever sold directly to the public. I bought some carpet direct from them many years ago and had to use my friend's business info to order.

80/20 Loop. I always suggest getting samples first. I didn't do any sound deadener on the last cars I've done. I did place some Ram Mat on the floor of my convertible though. My Barracuda with ACC carpet.

Firm feel or Steer $ gear?

Talking to FF they say that the "Stock" feel is actually more like a brand new Cop Car feel. The hard part about all this is that unless you are REALLY lucky, you have zero opportunity to try out someone elses setup to know how to compare. Trying to explain a "Feel" on the internet and...
