Which car is a short saga? Thanks for the tip

    Dealer codes

I’m looking for more information on dealer number 7236. Only info I have is that it is probably in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This is in regards to my 66 Newport.

Here’s mine! It says "Move Up! Move Now! To Chrysler - 1966 Newport"

    Vintage plates on vintage cars

In Washington you can run any plate you want on the front (or none at all) so I use this 1966 Pennsylvania plate, as my car was bought new in Philly. Hoping to find out what dealer it was purchased at when I get my build order card from Stellantis.

    '71 440 335hp plug recommendations

Just cbarges comments about "Along with a rejetted carburetor" made me think about the question, "do the stock jets that worked with the gasoline of 1966 still meet the needs of todays fuel?"

Where does one get various jets for a Stromberg WWC? I feel like at this point I’m stuck with what I have. I run ethanol-free clear gas btw, 91 octane, and AC R43S.

    Spark Plug Recommendations

"There is a "rare car" YouTuber in Michigan, who reviews various cars of different makes from the later 1960s to earlier 1970s. In a review he did of his '72 New Yorker, he noted that with AC plugs, the car always started well (and better with ACs than other brands), so he always put ACs in all...

I may get some shade for this, but I'm running a set of AC Delco R43S. They are performing well.

    Turquoise engine paint

Bill's Turquoise looks too dark to my eyes, but the late 50s Pontiac Turquoise he sell's looks real close to Chryslers original.

    Turquoise engine paint

Some people are using Bill Hirsch’s late 50s Pontiac Turquoise and finding it to match existing overspray on bellhousings, torque converters and what not. It’s what I’ll use if I ever give the engine a “Craigslist rebuild.”

What was the reasoning/decision behind Chrysler's inverted C pillars?

I heard/read it was influenced by the Mercedes Pagoda top from ‘63

    Choke settings

So I did a check on my choke pull-off and it failed the test procedure (it would not hold vacuum for 10 seconds). Interesting, since it was working fine 2 years ago when I rebuilt the carb. I was surprised it worked as well as it did then, so I guess I got lucky. I've ordered a replacement from...

    Choke settings

I checked that yesterday with my vacuum pump and it was working. I’ll try to observe its function while the car is running. Thanks. EDIT - it was moving under vacuum applied, but not HOLDING vacuum. So, it was indeed not working correctly.

    Choke settings

So, after my distributor grenaded and caused all manner of bucking and stumbling, my choke settings are no longer what they used to be. My fast idle speed has changed and the choke plate seems to be closed too much, causing it to run like poo-poo on initial start. I’ve made some adjustments to...

    Distributor shaft side play

my ‘08 Uplander has been one of the most reliable cars I’ve ever owned. The 3.9l pushrod V6 is bulletproof. I’ve changed out axle hubs, CV axles, a fuel pump, several sets of tires, rotors and pads 3 or 4 times, sliding door bearings, spark plugs and wires, door lock actuators, yet because I’ve...

    Distributor shaft side play

As an aside, I was changing out the front hub/bearing assemblys on my mid-aughts GM FWD minivan, and I asked a "professional" mechanic friend of mine if I should do things like replace the lower ball joints, tie rod ends, etc., while I had it all apart. He replied, if those OEM parts are still...
