1963 Chrysler New Yorker 4 door hardtop

It seems like we have a new-ish member to this site who actually knows what he's doing.

Nice work that has been well thought-out from a safety and reliability standpoint.

    For Sale 72-73 am/fm radio

Note to everyone about car radios: Do NOT hook it to 12 volts to "see if it works" without a speaker or speakers of the correct impedance hooked to it. From the Interweb: Testing an old car radio without speakers connected can potentially damage the radio's amplifier. Without a speaker load...

    The Hurst Registry

"Clearly." Thank you Big_John. I'm going to do some testing with regular Arial vs. the standard Excel font of Aptos Narrow (whatever that is). If I get it right I'll delete/replace that version into my Post #203.

    The Hurst Registry

I discussed this with Joey in April 2024 when I was starting this Registry thing. He made it clear that active files (such as an Excel spreadsheet) are verboten because they can harbor all sorts of malware and infect the website(s). I only know what I'm told, but this makes sense to me.

    The Hurst Registry

Well yeah, I think I mentioned that it's fuzzy. Here it is saved as a JPEG. Equally awful. I have been told that most websites such as this compress/optimize images to control file size (makes sense) and I believe there are workarounds such as fiddling with pixels/format before uploading to a...

    The Hurst Registry

This is an update to the January 14, 2025 posting of the Registry. Yellow highlights are "new" information. We now have real info on 81 cars, about 17 percent of the 485 produced. Again, I have a list of about 280 VINs, but it's only VINs from a 300 Club list, no other information...

    Carlisle 2025

Yes, I recall you were really, REALLY jonesing for this car. I wish you coulda swung it to keep it "in the family", but it seems the new owners will be good stewards of it.

    Carlisle 2025

This fine Hurst went into the Registry last August. It was for sale on Facebook, and was located in Marilla, NY. and sold for $49500 as per FB. In the Registry thread we discussed that this was rumored to have been ordered by a dealership owner, thus the VERY loaded options. We also discussed...

[Solved] Fuselage era wheel bearing dust/grease caps?

Unless I misunderstand your question, there are no grease caps for the rear wheels because there are no greased bearing back there exposed to the elements.

    Bulkhead Connector Shield

Let me fix this for all concerned: It doesn't just "set" there. It is firmly mounted and doesn't come fall off, period. But it is easily installed and removed by a members as knowledgeable and experienced as 73Coupe and Big_John.

    High Output Alternator opinions

Dangerous or not, you knew enough to write "I really don't need to be versed in what old Mopar did and why, just want honest opinions about GM 10/12SI manufacturers." That silenced a lot of keyboards that wanted to chatter about fatter & direct wiring, bypass mod, fusibles, amp gauge, bulkhead...

    High Output Alternator opinions

Interesting discussion about 'lectrickery by someone who actually seems to know what he's talking about. Watching.

    I scored!

That drum is fine. The adjuster cable is the same for left and right sides, as are the springs and the rest of the parts (except the adjuster). Rock Auto has kits for all the drum brake hardware....return springs, hats & nails, cable guide, adjuster star wheel assembly, etc in case you want to...
