    Aftermarket electronic locking...

Hey mate - thanks for the tip. If you haven't had any problems, it seems at least some are pretty reliable. Thanks for reaching out - I'll give it a try. If it works for even a few years, I will be happy.. From Daniel

Hey mate - thanks for the tip. Ordered the spacer. Probably an unusual place to start, but you have to start somewhere. Will pay for itself if the Western Bulldogs win tonight. Thanks again and appreciate you sharing your mechanical knowledge.

Hi Edbods - thanks for the tip - you, Gerald & CBody67 have made me see the light of the ASV2. If I get a decent tax return, that's where it will be going !!! It sounds like the cheaper version serves you well, so I'll look into that. I should admit that I only get 11 mpg around Darwin, and...

Thanks again Gerald. I hadn't thought about a phenolic spacer. I am fortunate enough that one of the previous owners had twin pipes fitted. It doesn't have headers, but with the hotdogs it sounds fantastic. When I cruise through Occupied Mexico I'll buy you a bourbon or two....

Now that's a welcome reply, and reminds me we have a lot in common... Your part of Occupied Mexico also gets to 46 C - that might explain why I felt right at home driving through Arizona!!! Thanks for the tip about the cam - the more I think of this project, the more expensive it gets, but we...

Hey Gerald - I was looking at a Edlebrock low deck intake. It will take some saving, but I will get there eventually.... It's good to hear from people such as yourself who have had good results.... My driving is rural and regional at 60 to 80 mph.... Daniel in Darwin

Thanks - looks like I can access ASV2 650 or 800 at about the same price. Sounds like you have found success with the 600. Appreciate your assistance.

Hi Gerald - thanks for your reply. The age bit is really why I am exploring carb options in the first place. I have an annoying flat spot at low throttle while the engine is cold. It disappears after about 5 mins in tropical ambient termperature. Time is money to me, and I thought I would just...

Thanks CBODY67 - your explanation makes sense. To be honest, I haven't been disappointed by the power of the 69 383-2. The manufacturer probably found a good balance with the 383-2. I couldn't believe it when I drove to the next town 200 miles away at over 22 mpg. Thanks again from Daniel

Hi CBody, I agree, great looking car... And it sounds like it is being enjoyed, which is even better... In the case of my 383-2, would a new 4bbl make much, if any difference? I acknowledge it's not much bigger than a 318...

Whitewalls with poverty caps - pics?

I don't have access to my old valiant photos, so I can't substantiate my claim. I usually had base models because I never had any money back then...I usually swapped them over for chrysler or ford wheels when I could...I recall they were interchangeable back then...

Whitewalls with poverty caps - pics?

A lot of the Australian valiant hubcaps were pretty average..... To be fair, the hubcaps on my 1996 Ford LTD were simply terrible - they spoilt the whole car..... Once the wheels were replaced, it looked like a completely new vehcile....

Whitewalls with poverty caps - pics?

I reckon some of the US Chrysler hubcaps looked great - much better than aftermarket wheels.... They looked tasteful and impressive... It was the opposite in Australian Chryslers - our hubcaps looked cheap and nasty...

    1969 chrysler 300 - instrument panel lights - where?

With dash lights that don't work, as a shift worker I find a handy work around is a $2 torch.... I use it when approaching red light and speed cameras... After you have passed the cameras, speed is just academic....
