For the speakers, I don't notice any backpressure or change in sound at any speed. With 250 watts RMS powering them, it would be difficult for my trained ears to tell if there are any frequency losses or amplitude changes at all. It's really remarkable actually. As for the package tray, I use...

No I left everything "infinite baffle" which worked out pretty amazingly well. Massive amounts of midbass at 60 hz and up. Better than most door installs.

Problem with cheap Bluetooth players is their output voltage on pre-out. I prefer to get about 2 volts minimum and 4 volts preferred into my amp or amps. That way I don't have to adjust my gain and cause Square wave or clipping to my speakers. High powered clean signal input is the beginning of...

I was hesitant to use a standard radio but my clients like cd and am/fm as well as Bluetooth. I do hidden Bluetooth receivers all the time!

I ran 4 ga from the battery to a distro block. Despite the big amplifiers, its really only about 1200 watts RMS so 4 ga is fine. I upgraded all grounds at the front. 4 ga from battery to chassis, battery to body/frame and engine to chassis. The biggest trick to prevent whine is to ground the...

Oh and the head unit is a Pioneer DEH7200BHS. It's a decent radio with CD and high voltage pre-outputs.

Thanks! The speakers are full depth and can go even bigger. It's a chasm! I have sound deadened it all as well which really helped with midbass response and rattle reduction.

It has been a while since I posted my audio progress so here goes! I started my journey with a single din am/fm cd player made by Pioneer. Why cd? my customers are usually cd kind of folks if you know what I mean. Lol. Next were my speakers. I deleted the kick panel vents and made new 6.5 inch...

    and NOW, 1966 PACKAGE TRAYS!!??

One of the first things I did with my '67 Sport Fury was make my own package tray using wood, plastic, body filler and vinyl. I was able to do a funky design too.

    Aftermarket electronic locking...

I have installed an inexpensive alarm system made by Compustar in my '67 Sport Fury. I have installed hundreds of aftermarket doorlock actuators in older and classic cars over the years. I use Installbay door actuators and they cost about $5 each. Yes, they arr made in China and they will...

A nice little custom package tray *how to w/pics*

I would strongly suggest not using the Gorilla glue as a contact spray cement! I use one of the best product on the market called Weldwood by DAP. It's a convertible top contact cement and it is amazing. I use that for vinyl a lot. The 3M 77 spray and other aerosol contact cements DO NOT work on...

A nice little custom package tray *how to w/pics*

Thank you for the feedback! It does look a little out of place I agree. I am hesitant to change anything else in the interior but it is a work in progress so I may go a different direction with it. I may make some trunk panels in the same theme to showcase what I do and show off some of the...

A nice little custom package tray *how to w/pics*

Hi folks! Been hanging out here for a couple of months and doing my best to fit in. Haha! Well, now I've got a little project to contribute! I am a car stereo fabricator so I wanted to make a nice new package tray for my '67 Sport Fury. I've got new speakers in there but I just don't want to see...

    C-Body Wheel and Tire Survey

Bought my '67 Sport Fury with Supreme 15's. Came with whitewalls too which have really grown on me. I think I'm going to keep them this way!

What do guys use for rear speakers

I am using the class D Gladen 5 channel amplifier. Reasonably priced and excellent sound quality. I have installed some Sound Digital and Tramps amplifiers, not DSP's and I have been extremely dissapointed in their lack of sound quality. On an oscilloscope, the Taramps amplifiers are some of the...
