PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY 383 TICKING :( HELP PLEASE

A couple questions are in order. Since the description sounds like lifter noise..... Does the noise go away after the engine warms up? Is the car being driven? What oil? How long since the oil change? The easiest things it could be are lifter noise or exhaust leaking at the manifold. If...

    Epic Whoops thread.

Ummm until a massive amount of people die? It's funny as just the other day I thought I noticed a few more bigger jets taking off from the airport with the take off flight path just north of me, I was out in the yard and watched a large jet and thought who the heck is that with all the fancy...

PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY 383 TICKING :( HELP PLEASE

another common misconception with ticking/slight knocking sounds, is when the exhaust manifold gaskets gets a blowby. I recently got a similar sound, loud ticking near the left engine side, just after start-up, which gradually goes away almost completely after warm-up , but is still...

    Journey Begins 67' Fury

Looks like water in corrosion in two cylinders. I don't have a scope. cold compression on 2 and 3 is 25, 6 was 75. Probably looking at a full rebuild. Might pick up a scope this weekend or just pull the left head off to inspect, I'm betting a blown head gasket. Not factory numbering, it's was...

PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY 383 TICKING :( HELP PLEASE

"but I don't have the knowledge to determine it myself." Guys, Please keep in mind what the OP stated about his experience with engines/valvetrains and keep your suggestions simple (like @detmatt did with his good troubleshooting suggestion). I've seen time and time again here where someone...

    Carb crisis?

So this just started about a month ago on my 68 300. It has always run real good since I got it running last year. New carb, edlebrock, all new ignition and charging. All stock. It starts up but acts like maybe running out of gas for a second and picks back up. It has gotten worse, doesnt stall...

PLYMOUTH SPORT FURY 383 TICKING :( HELP PLEASE

The side to side play is normal. The shaft wears on the underside where they contact the rocker arm, and the rocker arm wears there as well. Does any single valve have more lash than the others when the lifters are bled down?

    Budget 440 headers

The Hooker C body headers fit really well on my ‘68 Fury, they don’t touch anything and plug access is still super easy. They might be lower than stock, but they weren’t as low as my oil pan so I never thought much of it. I am swapping to a set of slightly larger 1 7/8 primary TTI’s when my...

    BUILD DATE FROM FENDER TAG

The short answer is no. The SCHEDULED Production Date (SPD) is an administrative function generally unrelated to actual assembly. For a variety of reasons, cars were built well before and after the SPD. We can document this. The SPD is unreliable when it comes to assembly.
