I am pretty sure all 1971 standard 440 engines came with a Carter AVS instead of a Holley, so that was not a mid-year change and not within the 1972 model year.

I have to replace my power steering pump on my 78 Newport 400 CID. How do I remove and replace the pulley? Do I need a special puller/installation tool? Thanks.
