    Speedo shaft seal direction

Aloha all, Probably a very elementary question here, but I put on a new speedo cable and ever since I’m leaking transmission fluid. I’m wondering if I put the shaft seal in the wrong direction. Does anyone know which direction it should face? Can’t tell which way to orient the smooth side...

    65 New Yorker Speedo Cable

So just a follow up… the one from Vans is exactly correct for the 65 New Yorker. Looks like the original cable in every way (except shinier lol). Thanks to all of you who chimed in on this thread. I know that some of you mentioned having one made using the old ending from the original cable...

    65 New Yorker Speedo Cable

For what it’s worth I went ahead and ordered the one from Vans. I asked them first if they were confident it was the right one and they stated it was. As it turns out Bernbaum said their cable isn’t the correct one for the 65 New Yorker. If the one from Vans isn’t it I believe the Mopar Mall...

    65 New Yorker Speedo Cable

I just looked at both of the eBay links (Vans and Bernbaum) and even they list different OEM part numbers. No wonder this was so confusing. Thanks again Ross!

    65 New Yorker Speedo Cable

Can’t thank you enough Ross! You perfectly explained what I was running into. In fact that 2nd link you sent was a seller I had contacted and he told me it would fit but I had my doubts. Thanks again for all this info. Truly truly appreciated!

    65 New Yorker Speedo Cable

My speedo cable finally gave up the ghost so I’m needing a new one. I keep finding conflicting OEM part #’s for it so I can’t decide where to find the correct cable. It’s a 65 without the auto-pilot. Anyone know where I could get one? Thx Kona

Thanks to you both for your replies. I am going to check out the wiring and the connector and see if maybe that’s where the issue lies. Much appreciated!

Washer fluid motor amps 65 New Yorker

Just wanted to see if someone out there with an old C body could tell me how many amps their washer fluid motor pulls when activated. Back story: I changed out my wiper motor a couple of years back but never used it when I was simultaneously running the wipers. About a year ago I finally did...

Heater core leak on my new carpet

I havent tried anything just yet. I discovered it yesterday. I soaked up a bunch of towels getting it dried and have been running a fan non stop. I just looked up the little green pro on Amazon. What I’m afraid might have happened is it “bleached” the carpet somehow with the hot fluid...

Heater core leak on my new carpet

Well I feel kinda dumb here but my heater core,I have just discovered, is corroded in my 65 New Yorker. And I got home the other night not realizing that my passenger floorboard was flooding with radiator fluid. I’m trying diligently to get it cleaned up and dried out but… It managed to stain my...

65 New Yorker Clock Lightbulb question

Big John, I thank you so much. Honestly, I feel a little foolish to have not figured that out. By trade I am a pharmacist, so if I can ever help any of you guys out with medication questions please reach out. The story of how I came to own the 65 New Yorker is actually via a pharmacy patient...

65 New Yorker Clock Lightbulb question

In my quest to get all of the lights working on the dash I removed the ashtray lights. Neither of them is operational and I looked up the link that 3175375 provided and those bulbs are size 53 (thanks again for that link). So now, my dumb rookie novice question is: Does anyone know how to...

65 New Yorker Clock Lightbulb question

Mudeblue and Ross thank you both for your advice. Push and turn was the instant solution. Flat head worked in 3 seconds. Needle nose pliers the other night equaled 10 minutes of frustration. I really appreciate you guys helping out an obvious novice like myself. Thank you gentlemen.

65 New Yorker Clock Lightbulb question

Thank you so much for that link! Using that website, I looked up the 65 and found the bulb reference for every bulb in the car. Super useful info. Thank you so much! Turns out the clock light was a 57. On another thread, I saw someone posted a picture of their 65 with all of their dash lights...
