My dad worked for the Denver Post and handled advertising (including composing) for local dealerships. He would’ve pounced on mistakes like the ’69 Charger in place of the ’70, and the Satellite in place of the $3,197 Barracuda.

I bet he did a front-end swap: not outlandish in the context of the other work. Either he wanted the “upgrade” or just couldn’t find matching replacement parts.
