1966 Newport 383 2-Barrel – Exhaust Manifold Heat Riser Question

I recently acquired a 1966 Newport with the stock 383 2-barrel engine. I noticed that the spring and counterweight are missing on the exhaust manifold heat riser mechanism. Does anyone know which way to turn it so that it stays open? I found this thread, but there was never a definitive...

I bought a lot of shiny bits at a garage sale.

I see that 300 was on Bringatrailer. That is only the 2nd C-body with a red interior and roof that I have seen, the other was a ‘68 New Yorker in a junkyard recently. I think those grille pieces will sell to someone, if not I would try Murray Park….

Getting rich on Rage-Bait... most YouTube car pages suck.

I started writing a reply to the RareClassicCars 1967 Imperial video, but then I realized the trend is a whole lot bigger than this. These guys aren't stupid... They know that virtually any car has a fanbase and that by using keywords like "worst, failure, flop, dud, etc." in the...

NOT MINE 1973 Fury cop car texas

Quite a few agencies ordered a higher trim than the base models. Washington State Patrol ordered Fury IIIs and Polara Customs for resale value and Trooper comfort. They even had carpet vs rubber floor mats. Very rare oil pressure gauge on this one in the clock spot.
