Carter BBD for 318 - vacuum port identification on clone "Super 6" carb

...2300 to Rochester 2GC/BBD adapters might be modified to do it. BBD 1-1/4 compared to Holley 2300: 360 two barrel carburetors were Holley 2210 and 2245. These are the same base flange bolt pattern as the BBD 1-1/2 which can bolt onto a 360. Similarly for the 400 two barrel engines. Holley...

    Carburetor Jets: Stromberg

...that. Otherwise, a good design carburetor. Only thing better might be a Rochester 2bbl, I believe, although I replaced the WWC3 with a Holley 2210. The Holley has the same air cleaner wing nut problem, but Chrysler issued a TSB and repair parts to address that issue. The top two items in...

    best carburetor

The only Holley carbs I've ever had even decent luck with were the 2210and 2245 also the 2 bbl ones they replaced the bbd with. And even the 2210/2245s have been a crapshoot, as to whether they would run worth a ****.

    AVS help

As to the base gaskets . . . when I upgraded the '66 Newport to a Holley 2210 2bbl, the carb came from Holley with a thin base gasket, which I used and was already under the prior OEM Stromberg WW3 2bbl. Every few weeks, I'd have to re-torque the nuts holding the carb to the manifold. The idle...

    Carter bds 2 barrel issues

The Holley 2210 started in 1970 and was upgraded to the 2245 for later EGR applications. The 2210 is usually available as a reman at Rock Auto. CBODY67

    Stromberg/Bendix WWC.

I'm not sure of the "inches", but it is the same as the '70+ Holley 2210-family 2bbls used on 400 2bbls. Same as the BBD 1.5 2bbls, too, used before 1970 KEY POINT, "BBD 1.5" which is different from the smaller BBDs used on LA318s. What engine size and model year are you curious about? CBODY67

    Holley 2210 Air Cleaner Stud

So I have been going through my 1973 Plymouth Fury III and I have been trying to make things right. One issue I have is the air cleaner stud is just all-thread. I want to use an actual purpose made stud. I have seen them for ThermoQuads, AFB, AVS and Six Pack and others but not much for a stock...

    Carter carb

When I put a '70 383-spec 2210 2bbl on my '66 Newport 383 (in 1973), it came from Holley with a thinner paper gasket. I used it at first. Had to re-torque the mounting nuts every two weeks or so. Went to the Chrysler dealer and got the thick insulator gasket. No more tightening issues after...

    question on vacuum leaks

...(like any FE Ford V-8). There is always a little bit of variation, like 10-20rpm on the dwell tach. Whether it was a Stromberg WWC3, Holley 2210, Rochester 2bbl, Carter BBD, Carter AFB, or Carter AVS. With finesse, I could decrease the variations, but they were still there. "Chugging" can...

    Holley 2210 Air Cleaner Stud

...for your car also fits. Which can mean the same filter housing architecture other than the bottom plate that matches the carb mounting ring diameter. Which can also extend into other Chrysler 400 2bbls which also used the Holley 2210-family carburetor. 1970-73. Just some thoughts, CBODY67

    Carter bds 2 barrel issues

This car had been sitting for almost 9 years. Rebuilt the carb with a Rockauto kit but its not right. Very tough to start if it sits more than 2 days. So that Holley 2210 is only from those years? Where might I find one of those Carbs?

    75 360la specs?

The engine shown with a 12-17-75 block casting date is a 1976 model year engine. Within the motor home and other chassis builder industries, the finished product model year can be even later, but the Chrysler assigned model year for the engine should be 1976. The sticker on the valve cover, if...

    400 vs 440 in a 76-78 New Yorker - noticeable difference?

...was always in the "cruise" orientation. As a point of reference, I was driving our '66 Newport 383 2bbl, which at that time had the Holley 2210 (1970 version, OEM replacement from Holley). I had gotten a bit nerdy on the mpg numbers, documenting my trips home by how many miles on the...

Was there ever a small block / 318 dual plane 2-barrel factory intake?

...before we really knew anything about single plane or dual plane. I looked in eBay for a 360 2bbl intake (which has the larger capacity Holley 2210 2bbl) and carb and intake used was $150.00 for the pair. Another search for 318 2bbl came up with something similar, but for the Carter BBD 2bbl...

    Carburetor Problems on 318 Engine

...production of carburetors, Chrysler started using Rochester carbs to replace them. Usually QuadraJets replaced ThermoQuads and the same might have been true for any 2bbls, unless they went to a Holley 2bbl smaller than the Holley 2210/2245 family used on the 360s. Your money. Have fun! CBODY67

My only issue with Rochester is the same as my issues with Holley: vacuum operated acceleration kick-down.

Might need an adapter, which might compromise air cleaner to hood clearance. What issues with your WWC3? What IS a direct-bolt-on is the Holley 2210 from 1970 or 1971. Just need some rubber line for the fuel line hookup, as I recall. I did that on our '66 Newport, back in 1973. CBODY67

...cleaner stud was attached via that "thick wire" holder. I did like the look and engineering on the WWC, though. But the new replacement Holley 2210 from a 1970 383 ran better and got better highway fuel economy on that car. Holley/Chrysler also had a "fix kit" for the air horn warpage that...

    New 2 barrel needed ideas?

...last night, I discovered another option as to a different carb, a 1971 Carter BBD 1.5" 2bbl which was spec'd for the same engine as the Holley 2210 2bbl on the car now. Should be a direct bolt-on, other than needing a different automatic choke thermostat and a re-arranged fuel line for this...
