Actually, NPT threads do not seal on the threads. The threads are tapered, so when it's tightened, the flanks make tighter and tighter contact. But at the root of the threads, there will be a leak path that spirals all the way out. So in some applications they will leak without a sealant...

Yes, you need 2 of those springs, they keep the drive-rod from popping out. In all likelihood, the rod is a bit stuck in there at this point. In a pinch, you could use a hoseclamp or nylon ziptie whilst you search for the correct part. A similar type of part is used to hold the plunger rod to...

Trim that's been on for years isn't agreeable, even the correct tool is no guarantee. In my experience, you need a variety of 5+6 tools, and which tool works best can vary per clip. And with it all siliconed in place, all bets are off. Your first tool is a utility knife and a stout hook-pick...

The black console plate looks to me like some textured ABS screwed into place. Console does not appear to have the correct hump on hte side for the shifter tower. Unless it's hiding under a bad carpet job - but I don't think so. Shifter seems to be in the center of the console, and not offset...

Yes, but surely for an extra $17 they could've sewn some stitch-stripes in it. If I was an upholsterer, that would be mandatory, I would never let someone attach my name to such a bare-bones repair.
