    Pulling seized engine

Ironically this new 440 I’m throwing in is from the Bronx, I always end up in NY somehow lol. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll shoot him a message

    Pulling seized engine

Yeah I’d definitely prefer to leave the tranny in, mostly because my cherry picker isn’t the best and partly because I’ll be doing this job alone and that’s a lot of mass to have to control solo. But pulling the whole front clip off is definitely an option, front bumper and grill are crunched anyhow

    Pulling seized engine

To be completely honest, I don’t think my cherry picker could handle both together lol

    Pulling seized engine

Hopefully it doesn’t come to this and I can get the pickup out without too much trouble but the sawzall is always a nuclear option

    Pulling seized engine

The engine that’s getting pulled is getting rebuilt anyways so it can’t hurt to just remove the oil pan. It’s crushed anyhow. Anything to make it a bit easier lol

    Been there buddy

    Pulling seized engine

That’s something to consider. I have a motorcycle jack that would likely work perfect if this is the route I take

Got it. Thanks for the write up

    Pulling seized engine

Both are removed already, it’s good to go. Were you referring to the pump housing gasket needing replaced?

    Pulling seized engine

Okay cool, got it. I’ve heard that the TC does just slip out of the transmission but I wanted to make sure before I added one more thing to the ever growing list of things that need replaced. Radiator and all accessories are out and it’s ready to be pulled

    Pulling seized engine

Hey y’all, I gotta pull the current seized engine out of my 73 Fury. However, I plan on reusing the same transmission and don’t especially wanna have to pull both the engine and tranny in one piece. Seeing as how the engine is sized and I won’t be able to turn it over to unbolt the torque...

    Uncovered ports on 440 heads?

Got it, thanks guys. Talk about lipstick on a pig lmao

    Uncovered ports on 440 heads?

Hey y’all, I’m test fitting an edelbrock performer 7193 on my new (to me) 440. It’s a 73. There’s these two open ports that the intake doesn’t cover, seems wrong? Am I crazy? Missing something?

    Purple cam?

This is excellent news, maybe I actually made a sound financial decision for once!

    Purple cam?

After being violently ill with a mystery illness for two weeks, I finally found time to get the new 440 on a stand and opened up the valley pan to inspect before I install the new intake. Does anything look amiss? It turns over nice and smooth and I can hear that it’s making compression. It’s...

    Budget 440 headers

Maybe in the future when I have Hooker money (sentence requires context LOL)

    Purple cam?

The wealth of information on this website never ceases to amaze me. I’m a lowly pipe fitter and have no idea how to measure a camshaft, but I guess now’s the time to learn lol

    Purple cam?

Yessir I’m in the process of cleaning it up, it’s VERY greasy. I took the valve covers off as well, all very clean. I just got a new valley pan and an edelbrock performer intake to throw on it, gonna degrease and vacuum as I go!

    Purple cam?

Dig some digging on my new engine, this appears to be a purple cam if I’m not mistaken? Could someone else chime in? I almost choked when I saw it lol

    Budget 440 headers

I’d love a set of hookers but good lord I cannot justify the cost, especially as I’ve also heard that they tend to have some clearance issues on C bodies. I’ll likely get a mini starter and just go with the Hedmans, I need a new starter anyways!
