Water mist "injection" at the breather...good, bad or worthless idea?

...the throttle bores, which necessitated some fancy accel pedal work until it warmed up and the choke came off. At the time, the then-new Holley 2210 came out in '70, so a new one was ordered, for a whole $34.00 new from a parts jobber. That was in about '73 and did improve the highway fuel...

What do these Carb hoses do?

One item on the hard starting MIGHT be the choke valve not being able to close fully on initial start-up. With the Holley 2210 2bbls, as with the prior Stromberg WWC carbs, IF the air cleaner wing nut has been tightened too much, it will exert a pull on the center carb stud UPWARD, which will...

    1970 Chrysler Newport Cordoba

the one for 3600$ was for sale 4 years ago. Fuselage C-bodys are not maxed out at 5k$ for a completely pristine and operational car. Keep in mind that in some parts of the world Fuselage C-bodies are really loved and run around in bigger numbers, too. To make it clear and transparent: If the...

New here - 67 Plymouth Fury VIP

OK what the hell carb is this? I can't find it anywhere... The Holley that would've been attached to a 400 should be a 2210 but this is not one of those. Help? *edit* nevermind, Stromberg WWC3

TO Swap or NOT to Swap

...2bbl in '66) was the same cam specs as the Sport Fury 350 2x4bbl eng in '58. If it's the later lower compression '71 383 2bbl (with the Holley 2210 2bbl rather than the earlier Carter BBD or Stromberg WWC-3), it's already got the 256/260 383 4bbl cam from '66+. Might be neater to add a set...

    Stock Distributor Re-Curve

...2bbls of that era, but NOT related to carb fuel metering. It ran and operated well, by observation. When I replaced with a '70 spec Holley 2210, performance did improve a bit, as did fuel economy on the road. The Holley eventually had the same problem, but Chrysler/Holley had a "Bridge...

TO Swap or NOT to Swap

The regular non RPM Performer is lighter than the stock iron one and that's about the only advantage it has. Kevin

TO Swap or NOT to Swap

Thanks for your input CBODY67. That is a good wealth of info and I'm glad you posted it... I know though a mani and carb replacement from stock may seem like an easy bolt on solution to gain some performance or otherwise, it is not always the case. More often than not, changing one thing...

    WWYD - with a 1972 Holley 2bbl carb?

I went through the same thing, My fury's 360 had the Holley 2210 2bbl. Even after a fresh rebuild it still ran like crap. My advise is to just get a new edelbrock and be done with it.

Water mist "injection" at the breather...good, bad or worthless idea?

I am NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE retarding the timing 15 degrees beyond spec. The timing is 15 BTDC, precisely as you've described for YOUR 66. Take care. NOOWHERE did I state I had set the timing back to what would in fact be 27.5 BTDC. HEAVEN FORBID!!! To wit, I've retarded timing an...

    1970 Chrysler Newport Cordoba

...deal at this time. Get it running reliably first and you might determine the carb rebuild, in this case, is not needed. That's with the Holley 2210, other carbs would be different in that respect. It's a great looking car and one that many would be proud to own. Proceed as you might...

    73 Monaco wagon

Thanks for the additional knowledge. The Autolines on Rock Auto's site appear to be Rochesters and have a large tube on the front that my Holley does not have. That may not be an issue at all if it goes to the carbon canister, because currently that line leads nowhere from the canister under the...

    WWYD - with a 1972 Holley 2bbl carb?

All I can say is that the responses so far are from guys who haven't been there. I have, and I can say with sureity, that any Holley of that era isn't worth rebuilding, whether 4160 4 bbl or 2210 2 bbl like this one. They all warp in time from use and heat cycling from cheap casting material...

...the number to Autoline techs and they will explain this issue to you and then maybe you will believe me. Good luck. By the way, those Holley 2210s and even the 4 bbl 4160s may not be very durable due to cheap castings that warp on both of them over time/heat cycles, but when new, they run...

    whats your average gas mileage?

...My '70 Monaco 383 "N" with 3.23 rear gears would usually do about 16-17mpg on the road. After I upgraded the old Stromberg WWC 2bbl to a Holley 2210 OEM Chrysler carb, at 55mph, I calculated that at the 55mph speed, it was getting right at 20mpg. In '74, in the midst of the fuel crunch back...

Would Conversion to Dual Exhaust be Worthwhile?

...when I finally checked the factory specs and found that things were still pretty much optimized, except during the lower rpm levels. The Holley 2210 is subject to the airhorn deformation from over-torqueing the air cleaner wing nut, so a 4bbl is a good option to get away from that issue...

For Sale 1972 plymouth fury suburban wagon

...description here but I guess I will, this is from my Craigslist ad: Its got 80 something thousand miles. It's got the 360 with the 2bbl Holley 2210 carb. The transmission is the torqueflight automatic 3 speed. It's got two rows of seating for 6 and the storage compartment in the back. It...

    73 Monaco wagon

Hey. Not calling in to question your technical expertise. Yes, it certainly is a Holley. The fact that I went out and investigated/photo'd the air horn should be an indication that I took your guidance to heart. I just want to understand for myself the condition of my carburetor before I go...

    1. Sounds like a possibility, but how to verify? I am not exactly sure which component you are talking about. Is that the hanging triangle shaped part with a pointed end? I have a Holley 2 Barrel. I think it is a 2210. I rebuilt it and was disappointed by the limited selection of parts in the...
