Raising the drivers seat, anyone done this?

I used brass bushings and flat washers to raise the bucket seat in my one 68 300. Still had enough stud going through floor to safely bolt seat in place good and tight.

318 is a good engine but no big block. I would take it though!, love the color and the tail lights on the 67 is my favorite.

    1968 440 dying on me

I would pull the bulk head apart and check all connections there, also mine was doing searthat very same thing, 68 300 with 440, and I found the point set was defective. The plastic piece that holds wires and the contacts spring all together was loose causing point gap to close. I put on anew...

NOT MINE 1968 Plymouth VIP 4-door hardtop, barn find, 34k miles, 318, Hamburg, Pennsylvania

I was under the impression that VIP’s were full of options and came with big blocks? I would still love it parked next to my 300! I don’t think it will last long!

    Coolant overflow

As long as there is no oil or trans fluid residue Im sure will be ok. Once coolant seeks its level it shouldnt happen anymore.

    Coolant overflow

Sounds like overfilled. Both my 68 300's did the same thing after filling than driving a decent distance. After they cooled down the level was just below the neck and it has never happened after that. Hot light never came on either.

    She sees daylight!

Are you going back with vinyl top? The roof on my 300 looks about like that but I’m thinking of fixing/patching and going back with body cooler. I don’t see many gold 68’s out there without a vinyl top. It will be good to see yours together and back on the road for sure!
