'66 C-Body Kickdown/Throttle Linkage Pops off/Disconnects at Upper Bell Crank When Start Accelerate/Shift Down

Hello, SixPac, Very kind of you to take pics. I will do the same. I was going to ask/wonder if the same parts for 383 and 440. I think I can get access to the Parts Catalog. I saw it online (Allpar?). I have to admit as I get older, too, that I want to believe our babies will last forever...

'66 C-Body Kickdown/Throttle Linkage Pops off/Disconnects at Upper Bell Crank When Start Accelerate/Shift Down

Yes. 440 since inception in late '65, actually. The KD is what as far as I know/can detect with my eyes while looking at the FSM, the three piece with ball on top, spring clips on the bell crank to carb (with Edelbrock Mopar adapter, spring clip on bottom bell crank to ball at tranny lever...

'66 C-Body Kickdown/Throttle Linkage Pops off/Disconnects at Upper Bell Crank When Start Accelerate/Shift Down

Thank you, Travis. Yes, it was always a 440. But, I have seen other situations where we take for granted about what we have. So, I won't bet my paycheck that something isn't original as I thought. I am the 4th owner, but, really, the second to work on it, keeping it alive. The other two...

'66 C-Body Kickdown/Throttle Linkage Pops off/Disconnects at Upper Bell Crank When Start Accelerate/Shift Down

First off, always appreciate replies on this site. :) You might have a thought there on the roundness and grease I know it's not shiny ball round. Hmm. Also, I didn't think about the linkage not being long enough. I could actually lengthen it by turning it more counterclockwise to test...

'66 C-Body Kickdown/Throttle Linkage Pops off/Disconnects at Upper Bell Crank When Start Accelerate/Shift Down

Not sure where to start... '66 300 with a regular motorhome block, added headers and upgraded to Mopar's EI (blue box). She's less than 20K miles on rebuilt tranny with a shift kit. Runs great and peeps on both shifts when WOT. Except, lately, the adjustable middle rod (vertical) pops off the...

Replacing upper distributor bushing and related questions (CAP)

Sir! I went to check on my '73 version disti and checked with brass feeler gauge, finding about .004" play (side to side) on the shaft. Thinking I had too wide a gap, I reduced it to what I *thought* was .008". Now(!) I know what that ticking sound is! Re-gapped at .010" and the tick was on...

    1965 Dodge 383 Fuel Boiling

Put one in myself just to save the battery at first, then as a backup to the mechanical that sort of pushes fuel most of the time... :) Separate, insulated fuel line from the back, added check valves so that each pump is not pushing the other! Good on ya to mention.

Dual Diaphragm booster for 1964 Chrysler (smaller firewall bolt pattern)

FYI, my '66 300 booster was replaced by Booster Steve (Booster Dewey Exchange at the time - BTW, I understand they both retired and the new outfit is in WA state?) with the mid-70s COP car Midland dual 9". He had to shorten the rod on the Midland Ross single that I used for exchange (was the...

    1966 Fury Brake Pedal Assembly

9" Makes a difference! (I could not help it. Cheers and good weekend!) Thanks, All. I feel better upgrading, now, instead of insisting on the period only. The limitation (not insurmountable) is the metric attach for the brake lines. I may look for some brass adapters... ?

FYI B & C Body Bendix disc brake dual diaphragm boosters compared

Anyone get more info/updates? I have a 66-300 and converted 4-drum 2 4-disc and the booster was changed to a dual diaphragm Midland 9" type that does have the shorter rod. It's in need of repair, so I wanted an interim solution to swap out while I get the big balloon fixed. I am willing to...

    1966 Fury Brake Pedal Assembly

On another note: Aren't there other boosters from B-bodies that would mechanically hookup where a C-Body power booster used to? Assuming some rod exchange maybe?

    1966 Fury Brake Pedal Assembly

Thanks for your comments. Would you suggest I keep my 9" dual-diaphragm Midland (that needs some internal check valve I'm told) and send it in, and/or, buy a 10" single-diaphragm that is much easier to get? I could do both, I guess, to keep it on the road. Note: Was a power brake 4-drum...

    Recommendation for brake booster rebuild??

Power Brake Booster Exchange | Providing Parts for Classic Cars (boosterdeweyexchange.com) I used Steve's service with no issues. He was very helpful with my 4-disc conversion! And his assistant, Audrey, is nice to talk to.
