CATL 2024: C-bodies At The Lake on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024 ("hub-and-spoke" to the Studebaker Museum in South Bend, IN)

I arrived safely at home last evening & hope everyone else who was headed back did likewise. Did have to regrease & adjust a front wheel bearing before leaving South Bend. Thanks again to @david hill for the assistance. That finishes up a 4 week stretch where I drove the '65 just about 2200...

The Michigan/Ohio crew just finished lunch in Sturgis and is about to head West.

    Stuck window woes

1" cut off wheels and a Dremel tool work to make the access holes as well. While I do agree that the springs should be treated with caution, my experience is that with the regulator and the glass in place in the car, things don't move much. The spring wants to push up, gravity wants to pull...

Where was this Mopar Brochure/Ad Photo shot?

I knew the general location immediately, but took a few minutes to narrow down the exact bridge.

Cause of rust on internal chromework round windshield and door frames ?

I suspect that the 2 door New Yorkers use the same weatherstripping as the 4 door hardtops.

    1965 727 park cable adjustment?

Unfortunately, the FSM is clear as mud on this. With the selector lever in Neutral, "Gently pull outward on the cable housing to its limit of travel, release and then tighten the clamp bolt to 10 inch-pounds torque." I assume when the cable, the transmission and the internal spring were new...

    Woodward Cruise - Aug 17 2024

Been here since about 9:30 am. Weather has been fine except for a pretty good shower about 3:00, but it seems to be done. Quite a few big Mopars this year.

    1965 Engine Mounts

Drilling that bracket looks like it would work, and was my plan B, but I was able to get a good used one, so didn't have to try.

    1965 727 park cable adjustment?

On my '65 when I put the car in park, the column shift lever has to be pushed firmly to the left or the park pawl doesn't engage. I know that the cable can be adjusted slightly in or out where it goes into the housing on the transmission, but am not sure which way will cause the pawl to engage...

    Uphill climb to the bottom

Congrats on the little assistant. :) As far as the engine sitting, I get your concern, but these things are pretty tough. My '65 sat for all of 2015-16. I think I ran it out of gas, and definitely disconnected the battery. No problem getting it going in the spring of 2017.

No, I've got the correct coupler, I just put the bolts in like that to show the angle between the two shafts...

    Steering Box/Coupler alignment questions

Checking off some small projects this week on my '65 Chrysler and thought I would replace the rubber coupling in the steering shaft. Should be simple, right? Instead, I've noticed two things which may or may not be problems, and may be related? First, the steering box & its shaft...
