I'm usually more firmly on the original/stock/purist side because I like that kinda thing BUT that blue 57 Fury is SHARP SHARP SHARP!

What do the leak down numbers mean with 95psi applied?? 1957 301 v8

Hey Rusty, I feel bad about your issues with your poly. I tried to PM you and can't. You have that feature turned off or something. You need to talk to Gary Pavlovich. He is one of the few poly gurus and knows them inside and out. I tried to give you his email in private but couldn't. I won't...

Ever see brake booster like this?

That is very likely a dealer added power brake unit. Get a copy of the FCA build sheet!

Does a tightly shaking vacuum gauge REALLY mean an ignition problem? Chasing my tail.

Yeah I understand but sometimes that's how they go... I've certainly had some go that way too.. worse actually.

Sounds like the machinist might be cutting or lapping the valves and seats again.. check the valve spring tension too while you're at it. After this issue gets fixed though.. gonna be a honey for driving!

My new to me 1959 Dodge Coronet

Yeah as with every other historical object opinions may be served and challenged but the facts are usually weeded out pretty clearly there. I have no doubt they'd love to check out your Belvedere too, I know I can never get enough!

It does have a pulse, admittedly some members are advancing in age but absolutely everyone who owns a forwardlook era car should sign up to be a member there. There are quite a few experts there second to none. I have found it as a primary valuable resource for my cars and I absolutely would...

Does a tightly shaking vacuum gauge REALLY mean an ignition problem? Chasing my tail.

I wouldn't go beating the piss out of it... but definitely don't be afraid to drive it at varying speeds and rpms, that's the best thing for it. Don't let 'er sit either. After the break in, the first oil change you should be running something like diesel oil or something high with zinc. If you...

Does a tightly shaking vacuum gauge REALLY mean an ignition problem? Chasing my tail.

is this miss steady? What Im getting at is when cold if you go start it and immediately hold the throttle at 1500-2000 will it miss? If so you can squirt water on the exhaust manifold by the exhaust exits to see which one takes the longest to heat and boil off. That should point to the misfiring...

My new to me 1959 Dodge Coronet

the Dodge wheels should be 14 inches.. nice car! That's a one year only 326 poly motor. The difference is the bore and it's the only one with hydraulic valvetrain.

Thoughts on the value of a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

That's a big block.. looks too small to be an RB but maybe.. it's probably a 361/383. It has a generator so it's an early B engine 59-61.

Thoughts on the value of a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

Nothing wrong with your reasoning, the 2 door car is probably the better choice and the way to go.

Thoughts on the value of a 1959 Dodge Coronet?

For sure. I don't look everyday at what's for sale so I'm not 100% up on the market but I know the 59 dodge and 58 plymouth hardtops are hot stuff. Sedans, maybe not so much but still fairly rare. There was a coronet 4 door near me awhile ago for like 2500 with all the glass broken out of it...
