1971 Imperial brake parts availability questions.

The Chrysler-Bendix ABS is a 3-channel ABS system where each front wheel and the rear differential sent speed signals to the computer. This system used a tone ring on each rotor and a tone ring on the ring gear with a hall-effect sensor. This is very similar to a modern system still found on...

1971 Imperial brake parts availability questions.

This ABS is super rare 71-73 IIRC. I’m not sure if parts are available for it, but maybe modern parts or parts from other cars may fit. I have done research and rotors and drums from a Buick LeSabre fit Imperials, on paper.

    1971 Newport Muffler

I have had a bad experience with their products for my Imperial. They are nice and helpful but I would caution to beware that the fitment may not be 100%

I have no idea what you’re talking about. I’m confused.

    I have a confession to make…

So the parts Waldron remade and hand delivered did not fix my concern. I compared it to the NOS muffler and NOS tailpipe and you can see theirs (left) is longer than the NOS Chrysler parts (right). Sadly they were informed of this and still remade the exhaust incorrectly.

    I have a confession to make…

The new master cylinder is in. Now I am getting the rear brakes done, axle shafts will get new wheel bearings on Monday. Then to reassemble and on to the next thing… Reseal the trans pan I just resealed that is now leaking instead of seeping. Then radiator hoses and clamps next, exhaust again...

Wish I could have been there. Doing brakes and getting ready to do wheel bearings today.

    8th Annual C Body Show - June 22nd

My attendance may not be as concrete as I had hoped for. Penny’s rear end is howling so she may be down for new rear wheel bearings, shoes and wheel cylinders so she can make Carlisle.

    Identify this part

Figures, lol. It was sold as fitting both.

    Identify this part

I bought this a while ago for my 73 Fury. Of course it didn’t fit… it was advertised as a 69-73 blower motor switch. Is there a difference for heater vs air conditioned cars? I don’t need it, so I will be posting it for sale once it is correctly identified. Thank you.

Beautiful car! I would love to have that color combination on mine.

Tux all cleaned and waxed for the big show.

Love it! I can’t wait to see it at Carlisle.

    I have a confession to make…

The car went on a 360 mile road trip on the weekend through Milwaukee. It was super close to overheating in the stop and go of the big city. I’m going to install a Flowkooler water pump in anticipation of Carlisle, and the Belvidere Happening. The rear brakes are also getting thin so new shoes...

    I have a confession to make…

It’s originality, it’s like a big aluminum radiator or Mickey Thompson valve covers. It just isn’t right on an Imperial.

I think it is. I almost told him to add a 3 infront of that number to deter the derby losers.

It’s easy to say that when it’s not your money to spend, right? You want me to put a Sanden compressor on there, your welcome to buy it for me.

For what, they are ugly and don’t work as well.

So the original compressor was long since replaced. The new one that was previously installed leaks like a sieve. I guess that makes another compressor to rebuild…
