You replaced it with something better, yes? Car audio stuff has gotten so inexpensive in the past 10 years that 'better' doesn't cost much more. The difficulty lies in determining what products are good - there are too many choices and reviews are too subjective. :(

Yes, they save them, but true hoarders generally don't get rid of things, that is in conflict with the compulsion that makes them hoard.

When it gets out of control, it absolutely does. 'Stuff' might prevent you from making some good choices. Sometimes those choices are related to how to dig out of a hole that is filled with stuff.

That one is not a US-type Chrysler alternator, all of them have an internal fan. There was a Leece-Neville used on police cars, but it's pretty large. I'm curious what yours is, but don't spend a lot of time photo'ing it for me.
