I'm still on tire as well if there's shaking. Bearing will make a whirring type noise. Spinning an open axle will make spider gear noises-- normal. Diagnose properly first.

I didn't know a non console was available. Does that carry over to the 68 500s? All the ones I've seen are console

That's the 66 and down style. But your car would likely have a plug in the small temp sender hole.

Basically it's; 66 and down, LH inlet 67- 72 ish LH inlet 73? And up RH inlet If it's a 60s car, which side is the temp sender on. Lots for sale on B bodies too.

If it's an L code it should have chrome valve covers? At least HP on the end of each head.

Thanks! I've posted a few tidbits here and there on the 4 spd threads. Got it right around when I joined here. It's a QQ1 , 1 repaint , 89,000 MI. Actually in very nice shape as far as rust etc. It's a may car, so Hurst shifter, reverse light. It had been raped of its goodies. At some point...

Pretty much every motor is supposed to have the cover installed first, the oil pan on second. So yes, with the pan fully installed there will be a bit of a struggle

Yup we're over the 318 car that got a bigblock swapped into it with a different color paint job. Is it a nice car??
