Ok, back to Wyatt’s project. Milled off half of the throttle shafts, removed casting flash from the Venturis, and massaged them, molded some epoxy in the main body to kill a dead spot between the rear throttle bores, and we will do a little epoxy and blending on the air horn in the rear. Next...

I will not make a prediction. It will go to the flow bench, and I will also flow a bone stock 4966 the same day. That always puts an end to the bs.

The entry of air into the carb is the same principle as cylinder head ports. The smoother the air flows, the more you can cram into the air pump.

I’m on it boss, I’m on it!

This mountain of carbs behind me and only 24 hrs. In a day! Plus they opened the local 1/4 mile yesterday, that always brings in a rush of “hey man you got a couple accelerator pumps” and “ hey man I stripped out my squirted screws” . Not complaining at all, I love it. But the days do cruise...

Ok Wyatt, I had time to make a few chips today. Miller off the choke horn and roughed in the entry blend. And cleaned up some casting flash.

I think because it is the right numbers.

Working with Wyatt to sneak some more CFM out of his AVS. He gave me the go ahead to carve on it. I’m gonna a little milling, blending, slabbing, smoothing, radiusing, thinning, and maybe a few more “ing” words to max out this thing. Here goes Wyatt it is disassembly day. Feel free to moderate pal.

So this fella is like the authority on hot rod 60’s 70’s fords. He taught me that for the GT 500’s in 1970 which makes the title wrong. I know I f’d up. Anyway they took the cobra jet carbs and deleted the thermostatic choke and the mechanical bowl vent, changed boosters, and re jetted. Wala gt500.

Talking to the customer, he seemed pretty knowledgeable, so I googled his name Ed Meyer. Apparently he is a pretty big deal in the Ford Mustang world and might be a good steady client. He said he is going to look over this carb and if he likes it will send me another. Here’s hopin!
