1972 Fury III Wheels and Tires

You could try a 255 width, some truck tires might be 28" tall to match the fronts. Without trying it with those very distinct quarters I have no idea what fits

    Bilstein Shock Question

I've never tried the Bilstein's, kyb helped, were in fact necessary with bigger t bars. Modern high performance 17" tires also made a huge difference

Manual Brake 1970 Fury w/ Hard Pedal

Is the car coded for manual brakes? Double check that. If someone for shade tree on the car they might have converted to manual without getting the correct pedal, they are different. The ratio is different and it'll be very hard to push with a power pedal and no booster

    Replacement power steering gear

The AutoZone cardone in my fury was no better than the one I took out 12 years ago. I put a FF in my charger, will never do anything less again. All my cars have headers or turbos, removing the box is a chore I care not to repeat.

    Max tire size

I was only talking about what fits the rim, not the car 275 is all that fits on mine and I had to trim the wheel well. Custom rim would allow a little more.

    Max tire size

With an 8" rim a 275 is no problem. 295 probably is ok. If you only want a 245 you want a 7" rim

    17" tires

Azzuro is the brand I bought after some internet research, sport truck tires. Who knows how they will wear but big change in grip from the old tires. 275/60 and 235/70 equivalents

    Rally wheels

I can't really put less than a 275 on my cars, personal choice. I've had factory 15x7 and 15x8 on my car as well as the aftermarket 15x8 now with 275x60 equivalents. I had to trim the lip a bunch to make the new ones fit. A 7 " rim with 255 should fit about anything.

1970 Fury, Evidence of Fender Bender

I ran 275/60 15 on 7" rim with 3.5 bp for years and they fit fine, but on a 7" rim they puckered in the middle and wore out early. I now have 17" rims and the 275 on an 8" rim forced me to trim the lip quite a bit on both sides. I ran 235/70/15's on the front and they are great. These cars...

    Rear bearing going bad?

which center section do you have? 742 have the pins in the middle that the axles butt up against. If 1 of the pins happen to drop out you can't get the endplay correct and the piggie has to come out :( It's been more than a few years since I did one, I would have marked the axle where the cup...
