Are you saying the green bearings leaked? The inward shoulder of the shaft butts up against the outward seal on the bearings. It’s cupped a little. If they weren’t on all the way, then your drum would stick out and that would be obvious.

Does it have a complete bracket, pully setup with AC. Are you parting it and will it work on a 440. Craig

Wait a minute......Your retainer "flange" is on backwards. Check the manual. And you did pack the bearings, I can't tell from the picture. Craig

Looks like the adjuster is too far in to me. Back out the adjuster and then turn and push axle in to make sure its seated. Otherwise, like Davea says sure grip, meaning thrust button fell out. Craig

How much clearance between belt and pump?

OK I see the alternator is the tension for the AC and PS has its own. How much clearance above the water pump and the belt? Ya know I have several pulleys from various engines so, maybe I can come up with something. Thanks for the idea.

This is what I have to work with. Anyway to tell what I’ll need to add AC. I’m going to use a modern Sanden compressor. Will I be better off tossing it and starting with a complete setup? Craig

Anyone suggest a lower cost setup other than CVF/March. I want to add AC to my stock 440 but, I think I have a miss match of pulleys. Do they make an adapter bracket for the 2 groove Sanden? Really, I’m trying to figure out to get the correct pulley setup.

The metal between the brake backing plate and housing. The foam between the brake backing plate and retainer.

I installed a bung in the exhaust on my Dart and adjusted the Edelbrock carb. After a couple test drives it was ready to go. The issue I had with it is that I kept watching it all the time. When I do it again, I’ll adjust, plug the bung, remove the gauge.

Anybody offer?
