    Torqueflite question

Thanks for the answers guys. Coincidentally there's another post showing Coldwar Motors digging into the 727 and I could see that shaft in the video. I really don't think I want to be doing anything big to fix what now seems to be a very small leak so I think I'll take the advice and try and put...

    Torqueflite question

The new oil pan has fixed the big oil leak problems I had, but there's still a small drip. Found out it's coming from that round plug in the middle of the picture (rear right side of the transmission, just above where the pan bolts on). Can anybody tell me what that is?

    Fast gearbox oil drop :-(

Yep, I like that about the drain plug too. And the yard owner has promised to do something about the gate! :)

    Fast gearbox oil drop :-(

All fixed. The new pan doesn't hang as low as the previous one, just a little bit lower than stock. Got a nice wide flange and I'm hoping it'll be oil tight.

    Fast gearbox oil drop :-(

Yep, it “was” one of those cast pans, slightly deeper than stock. There's a metal loop bolted to the ground that secures the gate at the place where I keep the car. I've driven over it dozens of times, but this time there were 4 people in the car and the drain plug caught on the loop. Ripped a...

    Fast gearbox oil drop :-(

if you don’t have time to drain the oil from the transmission using the drain plug, just find a convenient obstruction at just the right hight and drive over it. The oil will be out before you can say “what was that noise?” :-(

I enjoyed the film, although i had to watch it in German. I’ll have to catch the English version sometime. But nobody’s mentioned one of the best bits..... the ultra cool sunglasses!! ;-)

How do you know .. ?

Had a great day putting some miles on Clarissa and enjoying not staining the pavement wherever I parked! How do you know when you're spending more time in the Chrysler?? When you get in the family car and go to put it in "Drive" and almost yank the wiper stalk off the steering column!! :-)

    Transmission - finally oil tight

I had a very annoying leak from the transmission last year and when I had Clarissa in for new tyres I asked the guy in the shop to install a silicon gasket for the oil pan. The result was that I still had an annoying leak. So, in the hope that that might be due to a pan that isn't straight (I...

    Pics of 69-73 C bodies

Stopped Clarissa at an empty fruit and veg stand by the roadside a week ago as I thought it might make a nice picture. I didn't know then that two minutes later she wouldn't start :-(. Battery completely drained. A new alternator fixed that though, and now she's showing a healthy 14.2 volts...

Thanks very much, I'm glad you like them. I didn't use a polarizing filter but I did play around with the contrast, vibrance and lux settings in the photo app.

Turn signal relay location - 72 Newport

Finally got around to looking for the flasher today and thanks to all your input I found it after a few minutes, tucked up under the dash on the left side of the steering column. Not what you'd call "visible" but I suppose that's ok if you only have to change it every 50 years! :) And thanks to...

Turn signal relay location - 72 Newport

Thats good information, thanks. I didn't know if the fluctuation in flasher frequency was a fault or not. I'm wondering if it's possible to put a more modern component in there that always pulses at the same speed regardless of voltage changes. First I need to find it though! :-)

Turn signal relay location - 72 Newport

Thanks for the answers guys. I'll look in all those places on the weekend. Thanks also for the link to the manual. According to that it would seem to be located close to the steering column. I had looked around there but couldn't find it. I hope it's not necessary to dismantle half the dash to...

I apologise in advance for what to most of you here may seem like a stupid question, but can somebody tell me where it's located? Thanks
