I knew about 1955 LeMans race. Saw a newsreel on it years ago, but recall THAT was a horrific one. Shrapenal, fire, .... like a WWII battlefield. I recall looking at B&W footage before the crash, the spectators proximity to 130 mph cars and thinking how bad a bad wreck could be for them...

Might be the alternator. Take the belt off and run the car to see if the sound goes away. Obviously, don't run it very long, but a minute or two won't hurt.

My own experience has been different, having replaced lower radiator hoses on 6 fusies in the past 6 years. What I got was a good fit and has had zero issue. PS: as always, check that the lower hose has an anti-collapse spring (or add one).

Bottom hoses are now pieces of garbage as well in my experience. They don't correctly bend around the oil filter and don't fit or make it dang near impossible to r&r the filter. Why would you expend energy to change something that worked? Is there some Chevy hose that is 'almost' the same as...

Yes I'm planning on bolting it down.for now the car was in a garage since 78 so it's all stock and clean so I can't really do much as far as customization so that's why im going for the scoop and blacked out grill. Thanks for the advice
