Why are parts stores part # for 1970 300 440 upper radiator hose wrong?

Both the 60664-upper and 60659-lower are out of stock on RockAuto right now. They do have 1 of the 60621 that I know will work. Somebody grab it. Now to the subject of the spring in the lower hose. Back in the day, the only reason that spring was in there was for a quick vacuum coolant fill...

The panel is out of a 72 Newport that was clean . I thought 69-73 2 door hardtops were all the same . I found out they aren't so the fabrication begins .

I used to drag race at an 1/8 mile "outlaw" track called Utica Rome. The track was narrow with a short shutdown and it was at night, so you'd hit the shutdown and it was pitch black once you got past the traps. The grandstand was within spitting distance of the starting line. I'm actually in...

Why are parts stores part # for 1970 300 440 upper radiator hose wrong?

Continental took the place of Goodyear. All part numbers stayed the same. The 60664 is the right hose for the at least 69-73 C bodies. In around 72 they added another hose 60621, that will work equally well. It looks different than the 60664 but fits very nicely.

I knew about 1955 LeMans race. Saw a newsreel on it years ago, but recall THAT was a horrific one. Shrapenal, fire, .... like a WWII battlefield. Fans right on top of track. No fences, inadequate barriers. Totally unsafe for spectators AND drivers. Fpimd video, pics below. Nothing grisly.

Might be the alternator. Take the belt off and run the car to see if the sound goes away. Obviously, don't run it very long, but a minute or two won't hurt.

    15” Tires for my ‘62 300 - Thoughts?

Are you aware of what Wheels I would need to find that would fit those 300G wheel covers? I was curious if later 60s 15 inch C body wheels might work better? Steve weim55 Colorado

I think probably the worst was the 1955 LeMans race where 84 spectators were killed when a Mercedes went into the grand stand. There's a grainy video out there of that tragedy. I saw a guy get killed at Oswego Speedway in 1974. They race super modifieds, fuel injected big blocks on methanol...
