Who knew homedepot sold auto parts? (beware bolts in GMB U-joint strap kit)

I think this is about the manufacturer of a particular widget (in the case auto parts) trying to reach the broadest market possible. And they are willing to let the likes of Walmart, Amazon, and apparently Home Depot take their cut to gain access to thier e-commerce presence. I am no expert on...

Who knew homedepot sold auto parts? (beware bolts in GMB U-joint strap kit)

This post is about 2 fundamentally different things, feel free to comment on either one. About a year ago when I bought (the wrong) U-joints for my '67 Monaco (from rock auto), I also bought GMB 260-0266 strap kit (the 2 half-circle straps with bolts for connecting the rear U-joint to the...

‘61 Newport that is new to me- sorting her out and trying to identify some parts….

    For a late 50s/early 60s car, 3/4" wouldn't surprise me.

where to get paint in canada

You can do better. I go to carquest for tie-rod ends or gaskets that I need faster than I can get from rockauto. I would never go to them (or napa or apc or canada tire) for paint (that I wanted to match, 2-stage in a can or otherwise).

    One out, one in

You're a man after my own heart there. Restoration is expensive and usually a money-loser at sale time. The folks that say that doesn't matter evidently have enough funds that they can afford to sell at a loss and still buy the next car...

    Remember when?

Again I say..... those were the days! Mine had a 12 sissy bar, I think thats what we called them, that I leaned back on to pull wheelies until my fat 10 yr old butt broke it and I landed flat on my back, goose egg on back of my head and 2 skinned elbows. Brothers laughed and my pride was to hurt...
