I need help with info about VIN/ ID / model of my 1968 Chrysler 300

In '68, the only places where you have both VIN and Shipping order number is on the car itself, the window sticker, the build sheet, and maybe some original paperwork when the car was purchased. The VIN tag on the dash doesn't match anything on the car, except some (most) high performance...

Coupe vs sedan vs convertible windshields ?

It will depend on the year, make, and model. The sedans and wagons all use the same windshield. It's the hardtops where you need to be careful. In some models, the 2 Dr hardtops are different than the 4dr hardtops.....but, some use the same one. The VIN will tell the story.

    WANTED electric trunk opener

Here's the two I have. The first is just the opener along with some wire. No switch or connector. It doesn't have kind of a nice plastic cover though which would look nice in a finished trunk. The second one is complete with lots of wire and a switch. Just a bit smaller and a different design.

This is a factory NOS shorting plug to use in a tape player type radio to get the radio to work without the tape player plugged in. For Sale NOS Bendix brake booster valve

This is an NOS Mopar brake booster valve for a Bendix type power brake. Even though it came in a box that says "kit" and originally had a grommet with it, this is just the valve and cap....what you see in the photo. It came on most '68-70 B and C body cars (including Imperials) with Bendix disc...

    Electronic ignition conversion tips

The Pertronix system allows you to use your existing distributor which meets your request to be "discreet" which I assume means as stock looking as possible. In some cases, you can use the stock coil too. One extra wire that can be hidden in some shrink tube to the other wire for a stock single...

    Carb linkage?

The way those early heat riser weights were designed, they were offset so that the weight of the weight would use gravity to help open the valve should the spring fail or shaft/bushing get a bit sticky. It was usually a moot point later on when the shaft would seize up after a few years.

    Neutral Safety Switch

I must be mentally challenged....I thought this thread was about a neutral safety issue. If so, '68 was a split year. Early had just a single wire safety switch where later used the 3 wire switch which also included the backup lights. The center terminal on that switch was the neutral safety...

What's the difference between 1967 and 1969 rear drums? (do they interchange?)

Assuming your rear axle assembly is stock, it could have 11 X 2", 11 X 2 1/2", or 11 X 3" rear brakes. It was based mainly on engine size and the use the vehicle was made to do. Lower horsepower cars usually had the smaller brakes and high horsepower and many station wagons had the big ones, as...
