Putting your car on a diet -- ideas on where to shave weight

Yes. Absolutely. Getting rid or moving weight from the front ro the back will help with acceleration. My 66 Polara has the battery in the trunk, all the way back on the passenger side. It hasan aluminum manual steering box from a duster, aluminum radiator, manual brakes, no sway bar, shiny 165...

get rid of all power stuff, power brakes, power steering, inner fenders, fabricate fiberglass hood, trunk, doors, bumpers (I had to make my own fiberglass parts for the 66 Polara as no one makes them).

Hi Craig. I am sorry for the confusion. There are some members that are in Ontario, Canada and are very close to where I am. Carlisle (ONTARIO) in about 10 minutes from my place. Pennsylvania will take a few extra gallons of gas to get there.

1966 C-Body (Polara) front suspension Lower ball joint

Thanks Scott. Any other option other than trying to find a used 7003? The 781 that I ordered should arrive sometime next week... I need to replace the lower ball joint to get the car pass safety inspection.

1966 C-Body (Polara) front suspension Lower ball joint

I have just ordered a MOOG K781 - passenger side lower ball joint for my 1966 Polara (383 engine). After doing some additional research I found out that the correct part number is the MOOG K7003. From the pictures, both look very similar and the K7003 is not listed on MOOG`s website and very...

Fender TAG Polara 1966 - Canadian

Thanks Scott! I also checked mine and I can see the filling covering the holes where the MONACO letters were before. So, at some point, someone change the trunk lid. I will keep it like that. I like how it looks.

Fender TAG Polara 1966 - Canadian

Hey Ross, That is good to know! The previous owner glued some of the trim: front fender passenger side and the one in the driver side the guy glued it to the fender... Do you have those pieces? Do you want to sell it? Thanks!

    Low oil pressure

I know it is an old thread, but just had the same concerns on my 66 Polara that I just bought. The car has a 383 that sounds healthy, however, the oil pressure hot at idle was around 12 psi and around 40 psi cruising. I removed the 15/16 bolt that holds the oil pump pressure regulator and put 5...

Fender TAG Polara 1966 - Canadian

Thanks Shooter65! I found some videos and pictures of the Polara 880 and maybe the trim in the trunk lid was replaced by the lenses? I believe the trunk lid with the DODGE in between the tail lights is actually from the Polara.

Fender TAG Polara 1966 - Canadian

Thanks! The car is in very good shape. I know it is off topic here, but since you have a 383, I was wondering what is the oil pressure hot at idle in these engines? Mine was around 10psi hot and 45 psi cruising. I decided to increase the pressure and put a few washers to increase the tension in...

Fender TAG Polara 1966 - Canadian

Hi LocuMob! Thank you very much for the information! I checked charger.org website before and it says (INVALID) for the AB = 64. I just bought the car. It has a Polara 880 badge and I believe the tail lights and trim are very similar to a Monaco.
