Yes, mopar preferred, I believe I remember some special hardware behind the wire covers on my '83 New Yorker. They lock with a key, so there has to be things back there to make that work.
Thanks for the compliment, Marco. No fear of my changing wheels--I do like the road wheels very much. I...
Wow, Marco, your car looks a lot like mine (save the wheels). Do you have the dark red leather too?
Speaking of wheels--I've only seen one true full-size Mopar with the wire wheel covers that were so common on the smaller cars--Cordoba, Fifth Avenue, etc. It's up on Craigs List now. Wonder...
You surprise me there, actually. I see the rear chrome wheel lip moldings, and I thought those were a sure sign of a car ordered without the skirts. (If skirts are present, the molding goes along the bottom of them instead.) That would explain the lack of brackets, too.
Is there any chance...
Pretty & unique New Yorker, 6PKRTSE. Very unusual to see one without the fender skirts or opera windows. You won't run across a twin of that one at any show, I'd say.
This one is really beautiful, and priced accordingly.

Been taking stock of which lights work on my '75 Imperial and which not.
Should the wiper switch and the window switches on the door be backlit? I don't have any light in either place.
I think this one has been posted up several places over the past couple of years. I ran across it more than once during my shoppings--there weren't any other white coupes with green vinyl.
I wonder why nobody keeps it? Must be a story there.
Anybody watched the Sleeperdude YouTube channel where they revive a '77 New Yorker? The videos are really too long, and you might get tired of the goats (not GTOs, real butting goats). But I just found it fascinating to see the old car come back to life after 19 years sitting in the woods...
Wow, Marko. That van pic surprised me. I wouldn't have thought you could possibly put a rear-drive wheel on a front-drive vehicle. The offset should be way different. There must be all kinds of spacers and adapters on that thing.
Wow, didn't take long for this thread to expand! Wheels get everybody's attention, on the car or in the forum.
I'm going to go contrarian here and say stick with the covers. I do have the road wheels and like them, but they are harder to clean and would be pricey if you had to replace one...
It's not full, and it's not the canopy style. I think I've seen one other car for sale with this kind.

Was it maybe an aftermarket kit?
Yes, I should probably have said--both power seats work fine, and so does the tilt/telescope wheel.
My problem is not with how close I can get to the pedals, but how close they are, horizontally, to each other.
Been trying to get familiar with my new baby. I have the owner's manual and service manuals, but still can't quite figure a few things out.
I can't find the tire pressure chart on the door jamb. I can't imagine why anybody would take it off, but apparently. Can somebody tell me what those...
