    Mixing brands?

I've had several classics since retirement and they were Chevy, Dodge, Pontiac and Plymouth. I only have the Plymouth now but there were times when different models shared the same garage. My neighbor has 3 Ford's and 2 Chevys at various locations around the valley. I also have fondness for the...

Will an electric impact wrench give satisfactory results vs air wrench?

I bought this very impact about 6 weeks ago. With over 1000 ftlb breaking force it will sprain your wrist if you're not careful. You can't beat it for 90 bucks and no battery to give out when you're in the middle of a job. Jerry

For Sale Early 70's ? Chrysler steering column

Don't be alarmed by my lack of posts on Cbodies. I have been mostly active on Abodies and some on Bbodies. I bought this column thinking I could use it on my 66 Belvedere but decided against making the swap. Thanks, Jerry

For Sale Early 70's ? Chrysler steering column

Column is in decent restorable condition. A few cracks in the steering wheel but no pieces missing. All wiring is intact with turn signals and horn button still there. These switches look to be in good condition but not tested. Shift and turn signal levers included. It has a locking ignition...

    Chrysler steering column

The swap is complete and working. Using the complete 1970 column would have required some dash mods as well as ignition mods to work properly. The main shaft in the 70 was not at all compatible with my 66 column so all I was able to use was the coupler that was correct for the power steering...

    Chrysler steering column

Probably technically possible but not very practical for what I am trying to do. The car is not at my home currently but when I get it back I am going to compare the 66 shaft to the 70 shaft and see what the main difference are.

    Chrysler steering column

Thank you for your concern. I have read many posts on the A and B forums and shortening the main shaft when going from manual to power steering is pretty common. When I found the 70 Chrysler column I was hoping to be able to use the shaft in it. Nothing seems to be straight forward when working...

    Chrysler steering column

Thank you, John. I was afraid that would be the case. I guess my only recourse is to cut my manual shaft to fit the new power steering. I appreciate your input. Jerry

    Welcome, shenango

Thanks for the welcome. I also belong to A and B body forums and have learned a great deal from all MOPAR owners. At this point I only have a 66 Belvedere but who knows what the future will bring. I had a 67 Newport when I was in the Air Force and really miss that big boat. Maybe some day.

    Chrysler steering column

I have a complete 1970 Chrysler steering column and would like to use the main shaft in my 66 Belvedere. Can anyone tell me if the shaft is interchangeable between the 2 cars. Thanks Jerry
