A curiosity question about ‘police’ drums

My 65 Sport Fury (originally a 318 automatic) has 11” drums on the front that the service manual refers to as police drums. Were these standard on the Sport Fury, an option or?

Same old transmission, brand new internals

Checking that linkage adjustment is a good suggestion. It commonly gets called a kick down linkage, but it more importantly controls transmission pressure and adjusts it appropriately for the throttle position. GM and Ford typically use vacuum control for this function.

1965 Fury right rocker panel pentastar emblem.

Also Sixpactogo, that’s a really sharp looking Sport Fury.

1965 Fury right rocker panel pentastar emblem.

My bad on calling the location to be on the rocker panel. The car was painted before I got it and the holes are there for the emblem on the lower right fender. (One main and one smaller to keep it indexed). The outer fender liner is currently removed and so far I’ve seen no access to the back. I...

1965 Fury right rocker panel pentastar emblem.

How does this emblem attach. If it’s held by a trim nut, how do you access it?

65 Sport Fury Convertible carpet set-does any body make one?

I’ve been looking for carpet sets and those I’ve found say ‘Not for convertible. I’m thinking the Sport Fury vs Fury is not much of an issue, you just need to get extra carpet for the side of the console. With a convertible I'm assuming the front carpet is the same, but the rear is where the...

What do the leak down numbers mean with 95psi applied?? 1957 301 v8

Sorry for previous blank reply. Hit the wrong button I’ve had experience w using differential compression testers on aircraft engines and it may be relevant (or not) to cars. One thing that affects readings is the size of the orifice between the high and low side. In aviation there are two...

My 65 Fury convertible rear quarter window frame repair

I hope my experience with making this repair can be helpful to others. My rear quarter window was loose from the bottom frame on one side and almost out on the other. I used the method describe in this video to rebed the glass into the bottom frames. . You’ll see in the video that kerosene is...

65 Fury belt line trim clips

I wonder if a little heat (but not too much) would make them pliable enough to snap into the holes better.

65 Fury belt line trim clips

Here’s another thing I tried that didn’t satisfy me it would work well. I had a bunch of the 807 that started this post. Problem was they were too long (and also stiffer than needed for a piece of trim this light). You can see from the attached I tried cutting them shorter. Two problems were...

65 Fury belt line trim clips

I’ve got a full set of outer aluminum belt line trim pieces, but lack the clips. Has anyone found a source for the clips or a good alternative? First picture shows the trim piece I’m talking about just to be clear. The second picture is of a solution I thought I had. Auveco 807 clips fit the...

    Rubber trunk bumpers

Thanks for clearing that up! Parts book I have didn’t show them but I’ve found some parts not listed a few times before so confirmation is good.

    Rubber trunk bumpers

Does the 65 Fury have trunk bumpers or does the trunk just set down on the trunk gasket for support?

Convertible top well liner and quarter sail questions

That’s a great help and looks simple enough to make. I guess the reason the top doesn’t tear when installed this way is there’s a straight pull and not pulling it against an edge. Thank you!!

Something to check when replacing convertible top cylinders

You can see from the attached photo that the pin which holds the fixed part of the cylinder has come loose from this removable bracket. I noticed it was loose before reinstalling it after a cylinder and hose change. Not sure if it might have worked its way out over time or not. I think it was...

Convertible top well liner and quarter sail questions

Thank you. With the help of my Plymouth service manual, the Convertible Top Guys 30 page manual and some online videos I’ve got most of the install pretty well sorted out in my head. These questions were to address the last pieces of the puzzle. If you’ve had a chance to read my introduction...

Convertible top well liner and quarter sail questions

Thank you. I do have the factory service manual and a set of parts books. They were certainly helpful, but part of my challenge may be missing pieces. Figure 181 in the service manual refers to a drain pocket flap and a retainer. I don’t have either and I’m not certain if replacement installs...
