    1965 Fury I police car

So neat update as I pick through the car and look for items to repair - cleaning up the dash the plastic heater vents cracked at the attachment points and fell down, along with the cloth vent tubes (which were dry rotted badly) - repaired the vents and found some new tubing that is exact same...

Aluminum trim repair on 60’s mopars

Hi all, working on the trim for my 65 fury (grill, headlight, and trunk trim). I read that plymouth and Dodge would put a coating on the trim that can be removed with easy off oven cleaner to polish up (as the trim was dull and faded and not cleaning up with polish). I did a small piece with...

Best place for NOS or original mopar parts

Hi all, Starting to put together a list of need for my 65’ Plymouth fury 383 - water pump, gaskets, hoses, belts, air filter, small parts etc. What is the best place (brick and mortar store or online) to get quality parts for best outcome? I have gone to hometown parts stores and other local...

    1965 Fury I police car

Definitely factory, common build option for SJPD - they did a lot of one off stuff in the 60’s and 70’s

    1965 Fury I police car

Nada in interior, only thing is holes under dash for police radio and speaker - according to old time coppers it had a single red spotlight that was used to do car stops, plugged into spot on dash with a headphone-type connector - no spots, or other holes drilled anywhere

    1965 Fury I police car

Both, plan on restoring back to original and make daily driver - so floors are really good in the back, driver side a little rusty but salvegable; front passenger side is shot, I will have to replace, going to have to find a donor floor - rubber definitely held a lot of moisture and water there

    1965 Fury I police car

Long story short I knew a guy who knew the guy who originally purchased it at auction from the city of San Jose in 76’ - put it in storage and there it sat because he planned to restore it at some point. Unfortunately he passed away before he could do that, and the family was nice enough to...

    Paint code question

Here is the build sheet, I encased it in clear plastic (wife teacher has the right stuff!), otherwise it would disintegrate away, the one under the floor was just bits (but had “P1- Police” written in pen) - paint and style says “XY2” under paint and style, under trim it is “K2T”, betting that...

    Paint code question

Tag is correct to the car, matches the build sheet I found under rear seat - top is so surface rusted that I can’t tell if the car was two colors, was it common for plymouth to do the two tone with top of the car different than the body?

    1965 Fury I police car

Good eye, it does have the 383 Commando in it, along with the Leece Neville alternator which is massive - a friend told me officers could run street traffic signals with the car when the power was down

    Paint code question

Hello all, I have a 1965 Plymouth Fury I two door that has the gold colored paint with the paint code XY2 Y (see below). I looked it up the codes and “X” shows as light tan (looks gold on the car but rust has taken a toll) “Y” shows as medium tan poly, and the 2 indicates a two-tone paint job...

    1965 Fury I police car

Hello all, I picked up a former San Jose Police unmarked detective car that has been parked for some time - it is complete and untouched, but has some parts that need replacing - looking for a passenger side floor and trunk, both of them are Swiss cheese from sitting outside since the late 70’s...
