First, small block distributor rotation is clockwise, big block is counter clockwise. Both style engines share the same firing order, 1.8.4.3.6.5.7.2. Rotate the engine to T.D.C. firing stroke #1 cylinder and start from there.
My advice is if you can lay your hands on any "C" body, (1974-1978) You can get all the parts you need. Check with the Derby guys out there as these parts are normally removed.
I am not going to be able to make it this year. I had hip replacement surgery on 9/03. Good luck to everyone, and I am looking forward to the pictures. Bill
I have a Maroon one out of a 1976 New Yorker. Everything included, but the interior had a water leak, and the chrome is very pitted. Comes with key, and I can include the door locks. Send me a PM, and I will send you pictures. $100.00 without shipping. Bill
What size engine do you have? All V8'S have the same firing order, 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2, but small block has clockwise distributor rotation, while big block has counter clock wise.
I have the complete wiper system out of a 1976 Newyorker. It is a three speed system, and has new pivot bushings installed. If you are interested send me a PM. Bill
I did this swap before. You need the correct flex plate and torque converter, IE, 318 TO 727. linkage should be ok. You will need to have the driveshaft shortened.
