I've shipped them and they come in under 150 without converter. FedEx limit is/was 150 pounds and they wouldn't have accepted it if it was over that.

Was the big block installed on a small block k-frame? That will move the engine forward which causes oil pan clearance issues.

I did what exactly what you said on a '62 Belvedere. Cut the stud off flush and use an angle grinder to grind the swedge area so that the drum can be removed. After the drum is off, you can easily access the axle retainer nuts so that you can pull the axle and knock the old studs out and new...

Rearend looks like '49-'56 mopar car. Trans looks a lot like a b body A903 or A745 3 speed

Your 1.375" measurement would be 1.250" if they were '69-'72 spindles. I would have no problem using the asbestos brake pads- they probably are better than anything available today.
