alright called them up and ordered a set of leaves with a +1 inch raise as well as some new hardware and bushings to go on the old shackles. thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction guys.
Got under the car today to start making a shopping list and have another question. Are these the axle pads that are sandwiching the leaf springs? if so I kinda assume they need to be replaced. Second, does anyone have a recommendation for new shackle bushings?
Just got rid of the old rear shocks that had the helper springs for my 71 Newport and replaced them with some new 81091 Gabriels but now the car is practically sitting on the ground and now the rear tires are rubbing. I'm thinking my leaves are flat. This is what I've found on...
Theoretically, if I ran a fuel return line from a vapor separator fuel filter to vent back into the fuel tank. would this line offer enough pressure relief?
you cant see it in this pic but it does have a thicker hose going up to the air cleaner, and a smaller one running to the carb. I was thinking a vent for the fuel tank but i thought I should at least ask first
I'm thinking it may just be the track that I need. The one I have is only 20in long end to end. Thought the glass would interchange from a 72 Monaco, since it fits the tracks and lines up good.
I've been trying to replace the driver's side window, however I have run into a little snag. The lift bracket that holds the window is to short to mount to the holes in glass I found.
Are there differences for power vs non-power windows?
My new-to-me 71' Newport. nothing to exciting other than the body being in fantastic shape. It's equipped with the original 360ci mated to a 727 auto I also believe is original to the car.
As it looks now with wheels and tires that aren't dry rotted.
