1970 Newport; Advice On Corner Light Bulb Replacement

Looking for some advice, with any pictorial aids possible. I typically loathe videos, but in this instance I'd actually appreciate it! My cornering lights are out on my 1970 Newport, and I'm not sure how to swap the bulbs. (Came home last fall, been in storage, been tinkering off and on with...

WANTED Dome Light Cover; From Part #3488441, rare e-body part?

I'll find out shortly!! Its getting some dash electrical worked on right now, and then a friend is going to help with the sound system; with that, we're going to redo the carpet and replace the seats, so most of that existing interior is coming out :) Carpets got a lot of wear, damage, etc. and...

WANTED Dome Light Cover; From Part #3488441, rare e-body part?

These were the two styles I found, with the first one [here] apparently being used with C Bodies commonly. The first pic [in the top post] is mine, in my car; I just need that cover, so I guess the tin then? The larger plastic is in place and in fine shape. (Tried to correct a bad upload, lets...

WANTED Dome Light Cover; From Part #3488441, rare e-body part?

I'm honestly not sure; Newport was acquired late last year, with this missing. I think the lens? That appears to be the one included with the 70 C-bodies from other folks.

WANTED Dome Light Cover; From Part #3488441, rare e-body part?

Looks like I need a somewhat scarce doo-dad! Isn't that the way it always goes? Working my way through some "small" parts to scrounge up and I knew I was missing a cover or panel on my dome light in my 1970 Chrysler Newport; looks like this is a rarer one found on mostly E bodies? Whole unit...

Dye; Best Color Match For 69 Chrysler Green Seats

Looking to color match the "green" Chrysler interior and hopefully dye and restore the color to my 69 Newport Custom seats :) I was quite pleased last fall; my 69 Custom frame had fallen apart and was stored for a long while, and I expected a lot more issues or damage from wildlife/rodents...

Found Fuse block for 1970 Newport

Been tinkering with the wiring on my 1970 Newport, finally got an expert opinion and after chasing everything down it sounds like we just have a dying fuse block. Anyone have one or have a lead on one?

    C-Body/E-Body Radio Compatibility?

Dollar-wise, for me it'll probably come out the same since I'd need to buy an era-appropriate one anyway, but that would still solve any questions about appearance/fit, and apparently angles and time; just nab a solid original and have them do the work :) Thanks for the pointer!!

    C-Body/E-Body Radio Compatibility?

I am trying to avoid "bolting" things on. Just not the aesthetic I'm looking for. Friend did find a generic unit with dials on either side, and some faceplates the replicated general era-appropriate looks, but I had stumbled on the one I linked, which is more of a visual match for a unit that...

    C-Body/E-Body Radio Compatibility?

Gearing up with a friend to redo the radio in my 1970 Chrysler Newport. What's in there is a more modern cassette player AM/FM radio, gives me like generic late 80s early 90s feel, which I was more or less indifferent to, I just wanted to get it working, but he got me onto some of the repro...

WANTED WTB: Drivers-side Fender, Rear Quarter Panels 69 Chrysler

Appreciate the tag :D So the 69, 70, and 71 are VIRTUALLY identical in most respects. "Trouble" is one of those differences, the 69 body panels have those turn indicators below the trim line, where the 70 & 71 have them above the trimline. For my purposes it won't work, but I do appreciate the...

Fuse box "Console", no fuse in place?

I don't have a great spot right now to "work" so I couldn't get a great look at the gas tank for the sending unit/ground question. BUT, I did get into the engine bay today for some poking around. Found a disconnected connector, which would appear to plug into the empty portion of the fuse block...

Fuse box "Console", no fuse in place?

Speedometer is working fine (thankfully!), radio doesn't seem to have power period so I'll root around that. I DID see the grounding strap conversation about the fuel gauge so that was my next stop if the fuse box wasn't the case, so thanks for confirming the likelihood of that one :)

Fuse box "Console", no fuse in place?

Bought my 70 Newport last fall, had it long enough to get her running with new carburetor and brakes and make a list of items to look into before storing it for the winter. Bigger issue was a lack of a working gas gauge, but the radio, odometer, and trip odometer weren't working either. On the...

WANTED WTB: Drivers-side Fender, Rear Quarter Panels 69 Chrysler

Looking for the driver's side fender and both rear quarter panels for a 1969 Chrysler; for a Newport. Ideally NOS, used but nice works too, ready to go (can't say I'm equipped to tear down something myself) and somewhere near Michigan or willing to ship :) As of this point, availability of...

    69 Newport Stripes; Any pics??

If you've got something that's still handy. I've got a newly acquired 70 Newport in need of TLC and I'm incorporating a lot of saved elements from my 69 Newport Custom, so its a clone-ish Franken build plan. The 69 shipped without a stripe or a vinyl top, the 70 shipped with the stripe and...

    Decoding 69 Newport Custom's Tag

I've been able to determine what a lot of the codes translate to (IE F5 = the Avocado) but what that double F5 meant was throwing me, and none of the scriptable decoders seemed to make sense of it either, it didn't seem to want to line up anywhere. Two Avocado color codes, but why?? But that...

    69 Newport Stripes; Any pics??

You had commented for that on my post about the decoding; actually, looks like that's the same book I was able to snag on eBay a while ago! So I can at least interpret the codes, I'm good there and getting that sorted at least :)
