    383/400 4 barrel intake questions

If you're looking for some "eye candy" that would work well on a 400 or a 383, here it is. I've had it for years and never used it. It's never been bolted to an engine, actually, if you're looking for a 383HP to go under it, I have those too. The expense would be everything else to make this...

BIG Block Engine pics.... Lets see them!

Here’s a couple more big blocks I have…… This one is a G383HP with a build date of 9/11/70. I ran this in my car for many years - several years with a dual 4 setup from a late 50s 350ci. Golden Commando. Here’s a picture from “91 with that induction setup. Here it is almost 30 years later...

BIG Block Engine pics.... Lets see them!

Here’s my 440 + .030 = 446ci . Nothing special - did 450 HP and 530 torque (touched 500 at 2700 rpm’s). Ross pistons, polished rods, ARP bolts, Comp Cams XE268, ported 902 heads. I had to go back to a stock intake for air cleaner room. Holley Sniper, complete ignition system, and in-tank fuel...

    440 year Engine fitment

That could be correct (probably is!). I posted the pictures so Bayoulee could compare it to his car. I thought the '65 and '66 Fury's would have used the same sub-frame, but that's only because the cars have a lot of common parts and are so different to other years. Good job looking into it...

You're welcome! I hope the things I've been through can help someone else make good decisions for them. If we have good info we can make better choices when it comes to our builds!

    440 year Engine fitment

My '65 Sport Fury needs the left side engine mount to come off the front of the block. The '69 440 I have would have needed to be modified more than the '74 440. The '74 had the bumps on the front of the block, but they were short and had to have a 1/4 thick piece of steel added as well as the...

    400 4-barrel intake question

If you want to add something different, I have an Edelbrock 6-pack intake for a B motor I'm not going to use. It's a lot lighter!! It's still in the original box and has never been bolted to an engine. I want $350 for it - cost around $450 new. The expensive parts are the carbs and other...

    1969 Bbody 440 into a 67 c body wagon

Nice!! It should just be a pan/pick-up change. Don't forget, you'll need 2 gaskets. There should be a windage tray already on the engine.

    1969 Bbody 440 into a 67 c body wagon

Since the pans going to be off, you might want to check a couple bearings to see if they're showing their age. Look it over for any oil leaks. Turn the crank back and forth a little to see how much play there is in the timing chain - easy fixes outside the car. You'll also want to keep the...
