    Don't use an abundance. Just coat the gaskets, the abundance will all oooze out and inside you engine, not good.

    Sorry this is not normal even when new. If it did it with 2 different carbs then as above check the fuel pressure. Next is check the float level, floats full of fuel, or needle and seat problem or the seat loose in the carb body.

    All is normal, proceed to line up the marks and replace timing set. When marks are as instructions say the engine is not ready to fire #1, it is firing on #6.

    That won't work, this small brackets to intake need to come off. The 68 and older compressor bracket has 2 bolts on left head and one on right. Then to top PS bolt and the bolt by T-stat whee alt strap goes.

    What year? The brackets completely changed between 68 and 69. Maybe more changes on mid 70's. It could have been swapped around also, Got any photos?
