Won't start - questions. Help needed.

Did you check the coil to see if it would spark?

I feel your pain on the humidity here. I'm on the Gulf coast, things rust inside the garage just from moisture in the air. I painted every piece of suspension on my car just for that reason. Any nut or bolt I missed gets rusty.

My down and dirty quick check would be get the big coil wire close to metal, and have someone turn the engine over, see if it sparks. Probably not the right way but probably won't hurt anything if done quick. If still no spark, trace the small negative coil wire circuit back, it's probably not...

I would pop the cap off, check the rotor, and make sure the cap didn't get knocked crooked. Then pull the coil wire, turn it over, see if you get voltage on the coil side of the cap.

    HEI ignition conversion

I put together a 64 Galaxie with a 460 a couple years ago. The MSD module quit after a few hundred miles. My neighbor convinced me to get a $40 HEI ready to run deal off Ebay, since he used one with success on his jet boat. It worked flawlessly the whole time I owned the car. That thing...

    Portable battery jumper

I use jump boxes daily at work. My advice is to get the biggest you can afford, and get the extended warranty if offered. Compacts don't seem to last as long as the big ones. All the fancy digital doohickeys tend to give up. Might have something to do with riding in a bouncy truck though.

I thought I lucked out with Cardone points dizzy.

Did you get a limiter plate ordered? I have one I could send you..

    Taillights quit working

Oh I went rounds with my car over brake lights. Rock Auto sold sold NOS, emphasis on old, kept getting bad switches. The brake lights were only drawing a couple amps, just crappy components that came in really old boxes. Might as well get familiar with the FSM MyMopar - Mopar Forums &...

    Keys are MIA

@cantflip I use a locksmith quite often who impressions keys. I pay $100 for a steel key down here in God's waiting room.

Lost dash lamps, parking & tail lamps

Welcome! Beautiful New Yorker! I just upgraded my fuse box to bladed fuses last week because of a tail light/ dash circuit problem. The fuse holders just had enough corrosion to cause problems, even after my best efforts with a wire brush. Not sure if you know about online FSM, nut trying to...

Does anyone have a close up picture or source for these clips? I've been googling around, no luck.

    FBO Ignition upgrade

Very good write up John. The thing I didn't like about the distributor were complaints the curve was fudged up, directly opposite of what the intent was of moving to a R2R distributor. I have no complaints with the Mopar performance ignition on my 440, just about the time it gets to the happy...

    Higher output alternator

So the question begs to be asked, what kind of charging wire does OP have, or for that matter, what do I have?

    Higher output alternator

Wow no kidding. I'm learning by accident, thanks! Wire Size Calculator When doing automotive wiring it is important to use the proper wire in the proper place, and this also goes for the operating temps of wire plastic casings (insulation). You don't want to run common cheap wire in a hot...
