1971 Chrysler 300 with rust problem

Just pick one....concentrate on that specifically and the rest will fall in place as you go along.

You getting this James? Unless you've already started disassembling it--- take a long weekend get that 70' up and running. I'd be more than happy to lend an extra pair of hands! How cool would that be. A 300 in yourr driveway, a Newport in front! :poke:

Yeah. I like h/t cars. Esp. ones without vinyl. Color really doesn't matter though.

Although I can see the attraction, I'm not a convertible guy.

The more you guys yammer about it the more I'm thinking about it. But then what about the rear end? I think maybe the wiring harness back there is different...300 had more lamps in tail lights...and then of course there's the 440.

The guy was really eager to sell it. I don't remember anymore how to get there....I only remember riding by Burholme Park in Philly.

1971 Chrysler 300 with rust problem

Sorry. it comes back to haunt me from time to time. I should delete all the pics and videos once and exorcise the demons once and for all. I still have a copy of the CL ad with asking price. If I posted it you'd jump in your truck, come over here and kick me dead square in my *** for not going...

1971 Chrysler 300 with rust problem

Thanks, James. I saw lots of cars thru CL or word of mouth before I found mine...some REALLY bad stuff..they tried to sell me..w/ Barrett Jackson asking prices. My car literally fell in my lap...I couldn't believe it at the time....nor walk away from it. There's only one car I looked at that I...

HaHa...thanks, but I prefer to have the entire 300 behind the lights. A "mutant" Newport wouldn't suffice (for long, lol). BTW - is that the only fuselage in that yard, James?

Yea I know. My Newport and I have been thru much. Lots of busted knuckles upgrading this or replacing that....lots of fun times. And yea its the same body as the 300/New Yorker cars...but I got 2 have flip up lights.

1971 Chrysler 300 with rust problem

One of these days I will be in the position to grab myself a nice 69 or 71 Three Hundred for myself. That's the goal post. My Newport is just a "JV" stand in for now. I will always lust after the 70' Dodge Charger R/T or 500 w/ a BB. However, the way things are now I just have to accept the fact...

Check my post and I have some questions

Speaking for myself I like to see pics.

    Under The Vinyl

Yea. What would be the reasoning for not painting the top of the roof? Doesn't seem like any forethought went into that. Easy to paint the entire body at once then apply vinyl.
