I stop in from time to time.

I don't even do as well as the Canadians.

    1974 Newport Navajo

Don't bother. It wasn't much, if any, improvement in mileage or power. Luckily I bought the kit second hand. I've installed two of the do-it-yourself remote starts and they both crapped out due to cheap electronics. However, the car was great.

    1974 Newport Navajo

I just read Rip's Navajo mega-thread and was going to tag on, but decided not to hijack. The Navajo option apparently lived on for '74, perhaps using up leftover parts? Or not. Who knows. Apparently you could get other colors by '74. This car was an original paint survivor that was being bid on...

The infamous 4-spd 76 New Yorker. Ask me anything.

    1) If I were ever to buy Stan's old car, first I would remove the scoops. Then I would have a shift boot cover made from crushed red velour. If there were any material left, I'd have fuzzy dice made. 2) As for Stan's desire for a manual Crown Vic (Crown Tremvec?), I may have mentioned, but...

@detmatt Afraid I do not know that car... But I also recognized the Colonial Dodge dealer sticker immediately. I can't read the signs....what intersection was that? and here's two pics to blow minds...

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

Breaks are paid, only lunch (30 min) is "made up" by working the extra 1/2 hour.

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

If you start at 6 am, your 8.5 hour day ends at 2:30 pm (8 hrs + 30 min unpaid lunch). However, 6:30 is ‎also a typical start time, so they would leave at 3 pm. There are several reasons... 6 am workers might come in to start up machinery, bring stock to the line, etc. 6:30 am might be when the...

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

FWIW, to this day (and in 1978), 6 AM is the start of Chrysler's 1st shift. Working before that gets you 3rd shift OT (10%)

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

Just so you know, I wasn't really referring to your post with "disparaging". I meant more "society as a whole". I'd be proud to offer you a trike lesson, lol.

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

I'm sorry but I'll have to take disagreement with this; having actually worked on assembly lines and being the 3rd generation to work at Chrysler (both male grandparents BTW). And although I haven't worked in a Ford assembly plant, their standards aren't going to be vastly different; with some...

When was the last production day for C-Bodies?

If you read this article (for more than just the date of the last C-body) there is so much to process. It touches on history, class, race, the role of government, separation of government powers, international trade and yes, manufacturing and our beloved Chrysler Corporation. Every word could be...

Kids, Kars and why I don't butcher them.

(kids either). I just had a profound weekend and thought I'd share a few thoughts. Each Friday there is a local cruise night that I haven't attended due to foul weather every Friday for a month. I decided to roll in two days ago, albeit a little late because my whitewalls were not up to snuff...

Yeah, I was gonna say.... I'm not a tag decoder guy, so is this a silver car with black trim? Is there a prize for noticing the Imperial hood ornament?
