    Mexican-market 1971 Dodge Monaco: A puzzle?

Indeed, the local content for US cars assembled overseas was dictated by economical common sense: for some parts it cost more to import them than to source them locally. It was also a asset to sales, as it could be used in advertisements, to induce the feeling of buying locally (at least...

    Mexican-market 1971 Dodge Monaco: A puzzle?

Outside of the US market, Mopar was always mixing parts from the corporate bin, in order to produce what seemed to be the best idea at the time for a specific market. Consider the case of Benelux countries (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg). In the '50s, you could buy 3 (yes, three) versions of...

Removal of steering column shift linkage

Hello, I have a console shifter in my '70 Sport Fury. When you shift with that lever, there's a hub that rotates on the steering column, where the shifting lever would have been if it was not a console (I guess). Do we agree on the fact that this is completely useless, and that I can remove...

How do these clips work to hang the rocker moldings on my 70?

You insert the moulding on the top of the clips. And then there is a row of 4/5 small screws, directly on the bottom edge of the rocker panel. There is also one screw which goes in the front of the moulding, directly in the fender.

Removing wide lower aluminum trim on my '70 Sport Fury

Hi everyone, I need to remove the wide lower aluminum trim on my '70 Sport Fury (the one that goes from the front wheelwell to the rear one). I see some screws to the rocker panel, but all of them are rusted and won't budge, even with some penetrating oil. Do you have some tips ? Thanks. PS ...

1970 Sport Fury : Missing steel fuel line ?

Actually, I do have some length of 5/16" brake line that I had bough for my previous restoration project. I just do not have the tool to make the flared ends. But compression fittings are an excellent idea, I didn't think about that one. Thanks.

1970 Sport Fury : Missing steel fuel line ?

Well, then there's a problem on my side : the front line is way too short to connect with the rear line only with a small piece of hose. To connect the two, I would need at least 2 feet of hose. It looks like the front line must have been replaced somewhere in the life of the car with a shorter...

1970 Sport Fury : Missing steel fuel line ?

Thanks guys, I did looked it up at the Inline website, but it does not match my configuration. The front line I have stops 5 inches after going out of the front rail (going to the back). It seems to me their picture is a generic one.

1970 Sport Fury : Missing steel fuel line ?

Hi everyone, Can someone tell me how many parts are there in the fuel line of the 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury ? It seems to me I'm missing something. Starting from the fuel tank, I have: - steel fuel line : going over the rear axle, then down to the right side, and then running 2 feet alongside...

Info Request: Concave vs. Convex Rear Window [INnie vs. an OUTey]

Well, it's rather a matter of personal taste ... Personally, I prefer the "Outies" over the "Innies". I have a '70 Sport Fury PH23.

    Vented or not vented ?

Yes, I agree, it should be easy to make. I still have some tubing that should do the trick. I have to check for the bracket.

    Vented or not vented ?

Hi everyone, I have a 1970 Plymouth Sport Fury, and the gas tank has 2 rear lines. Both are vent lines, I know that already, from the FSM. I'm missing the short line, I have only the bigger loop line that goes in the trunk (I suppose I could just cap the shorter output). Just to be sure: it...

1970 Sport Fury GT Resto vid part 1

It's not really a question of being engineered for it, because those modern body glues are as strong as a weld when they are correctly used, in the right places. They're sometimes even more strong than a weld, because they cover a more larger surface and protect from rust (in the case of spot...

Update from Quirey Quality Design on Washer Bottles for Fuselage Cars

It's indeed almost certain that those washer reservoirs were made by an outside supplier, and not by Chrysler. I'm working in the automotive industry (actually, I'm working for Stellantis, the new holding company for Chrysler), and I can tell you that molds are kept at suppliers, at the owner's...

Sport Fury GT exhaust tips vs Challenger

Sorry for misleading everyone ... I just realized I had looked at 2.5" ADAPTATIONS of Challenger exhaust tips by PG Classic. They exist in 3 sizes : 2", 2.5" and 3". So it's just a matter of choosing the right size.

Sport Fury GT exhaust tips vs Challenger

Hi everyone, I'd like to add Sport Fury GT exhaust tips to my '70 Sport Fury. As the original are made of unobtainium, I'd like to adapt Challenger exhaust tips. I know all about the exhaust routing and the hangers, but one thing bothers me : the Challenger tips are sold as having a 2.5" ID...
