I will probably put it on the frame rail when time comes with the engine in.

I need to rebuild/reseal both engine and trans first so once that’s done that shouldn’t be an issue.

Well that’s cool as well. Whenever you have time and a clean shop let me know, I’d be more than happy to put in on material. Those covers came out really good! I wouldn’t have guessed they weren’t original to it

What would fabricating a floor hump cost to have you do that? I don’t doubt I can make one but if you have the correct one end can make a replica of that that fits the stock tunnel that would save me a lot of time which is the hottest commodity for me these days haha.

I would definitely appreciate it, the car is a bit distant on the project list but collecting the parts now makes the most sense. Let me know what you find!

That’s kinda what I was thinking about doing. My firebird has a t56 and no off the shelf manual adapter would work for it so I cut my 4 speed one to pieces and reconfigured it over the hole (since the t56 was centered and the 4 speed are offset like these) I’ll see what a b body repop costs.

Thank you for the pictures! That will narrow down the search for sure!

Shoot, I wasn’t sure if a B body was close and they made the sheet metal for that. They do for my firebird, maybe I’ll try something like that.

Yeah, I got that part but I assumed that you had to turn the key to unlock the rear gate too, or that was an opening mechanism. The key hole is in a piece of trim but it wasn’t obvious how that moved or opened the gate.

Didn’t think of that, is there an off the shelf option for that that works?

A z bar and bracket would both be helpful, any position measurements/pictures of the bracket would also be helpful. The 4 speed setup I would appreciate pictures of too from the perspective of the shifter and mounting etc so I can seek the rest of the parts I’m missing.

Damn, I didn’t expect it to be that fancy! I’ll give it a shot. Is there any way to get the hatch open once the glass is down if the key hole is jacked up?

Here’s a few more pics. I picked up some B body long tubes for 40 bucks and dropped those off along with the pedals and a833. one other question, is this the correct shape/style for a C body Z bar? For Sale - Rare C-body z-bar and clutch pedal rod I know I’m too late to buy this one, but at...

Okay cool, then I’m most of the way there. The 4 speed came with a crossmember, and I just realized when I was moving the 4 speed to the place where the cars stored that it has a pivot ball. I’ll try to find pictures of what the other side of the Z bar mounting looks like so I know what I’ll...

Good to know! I found some pictures on this forum about C body Z bars, I only hope they are accurate. I need to look in the engine bay for the bracket to mount that on the frame rail. Did these have drilled cranks for pilot bearings even in autos?? And drilled and tapped blocks/bellhousings...

That’s just an old picture when I got some wheels off a duster to try on, they had too much backspacing unfortunately. I have some of the same ones though from a family friend for the car, I don’t think they are super wide but they should look the part. If I get around to massaging the wheel...
