    How long ago did the parts come form 440 Source ? I bought a whole top end kit with heads from them about 20 years ago. A few days later they sent me all new adjusters and said do not use what was supplied with the kit. It must have been a known problem.

    I bought Gates fuel hose. 1 years later I was backing out of the garage and the wife said "Your car is leaking". Leaking at the filter to carb union. All others were cracking. I too have switched to fuel injection hose.

    The silent chains with the fiber cam gear are known to wear and teeth break off. So is it written in stone,no but most of us are maintenance anal and it will keep us up at night thinking about it.

    Photo of a small block but hook up is the same. Disregard the kick down. Other is a single 4bbl Hemi.Disregard the kick down cable. Both are using the 1481 adapter.

    I swapped a Poly for a LA 318. Why? Because it was a low mileage engine that was swapped for a big block.Also it was free with a 904 to boot. Budget is key. Low or not a problem ? My budget LA 318 mild build that sounds good and will light the tires.

    Carter,Weber,Magnetti-Morelli,I've had them all with those names cast in the main body. Just got a new Edelbrock AVS2 and it now has Edelbrock name cast in it. What ever name is, I have no problem with.Still my favorite carb.
