    Windshield Seal leaks when raining

When I had my new windshield installed on my ‘68 it leaked between the seal and glass because the installer didn’t follow the recommended procedure in the manual and with the replacements seal to use a clear sealer in between the glass and rubber seal. The water would run down the glass into the...

Is there a source for a can of aerosol spray paint with correct paint (1967 Forest green metalic) ?

As stated above it is almost a metallic matte. When finished it is like running your hand over 320 to 600 grit sandpaper. My high dollar paint shop couldn’t replicate the feel and look, so I ordered a couple of cans from 8774paint1. I was very satisfied. Here is my post and pictures of the paint...

    Car about to be painted

Unless you are getting a $1,000 paint job (likely the paint itself is more than that) spend the extra 1% to do it right. 10 extra hours of labor? I know it probably stings right now, but you will likely always look at the jambs a year from now and wish you would have done it. I sweated...

    Broken chrome studs

I had a couple break off my Polara emblems. Most emblems are very soft. I filed the stud down to the base and slowly drilled out the remainder of the broken studs down into the emblem carful not to go too deep or large. I then found some machine screws and cut the heads off and used a tap to...

    Keeping aluminum finish

The Eastwood matte or satin works pretty good. I used it quite a bit on bare metal, it does help maintain a “natural” look. I did use it on my transmission, fan spacer and alternator.

Removing push nut retainer without damaging them?

I have found those retainers at some hardware stores if you do damage them. sometimes if they are stuck(and you have room) a quick pop with a hammer on the end of the stud May invert them and make them easier to wiggle or screw off. Put a nut on the threads before hitting if you plan on keeping...

Any reproduction rear windshield for 2 door ‘68 New Yorker?

Make sure your glass installer follows the directions with the seal or it will leak. I don’t care how many truck windows with seals they do. My installer had to come back as he didn’t think he needed any sealer in the groove of the gasket where water wants to wick between the seal and glass. No...
