    I did that on a 1975 Grand Prix. What a Pain in the ***! The glue took hours to remove, all the "hair" i burned off with a Bernz o matic propane torch. The transition from the roof to quarters isn't really finished, so that has to be done. The window trim didn't meet the roof in the corners, so...

    Sanding scratches - painting novice

    Before you lay down any paint, you should only be able to see a uniform haze on the surface. No individual scratches. Go all the way to 2500 or 3000 grit. Rub your hand across the surface. If you can feel it, you can see it. Be patient, its nor a quick process. Good luck

    Look up a product called Muggy Weld. Pot metal is a touchy item to mend, but this stuff seems to work pretty good.

    The filler is there to cover up the welded seam transition from the roof to the quarter panel. There was no real effort to pretty it up since it was going to be covered anyway.
